man, i remember 10 years ago or so when 10pm cubs starts were my favorite thing

Especially on a Friday night when I watched the games while pre-gaming and by the time it was over I had a solid buzz and it was time to go out.

Now I give it a 50% chance I'm awake when the game ends. And to think I used to make fun of old people for not being able to stay up until midnight

4am start over here - excuse me but I'll pass.

if you're posting from tomorrow why don't you just tell us who won already

Can't say I've watched one of those since Atlanta

Just go to bed now and you should be able to wake up to catch the end of it....you'll probably miss most of the dongshow though.

I'm fine with this one given that it's a Friday. August 22 and 23 (Monday/Tuesday) in San Diego is going to be a little rough.

Going to this one. Super pumped. Spent the last week learning how to surf in Santa Cruz with my buddy and at Yolsemite for a few days. Also went to Giants/Nationals last Saturday. Awesome trip. Awesome places. Only downside was not watching any of this sweet ride for the Cubs, but I'll live with it.

Big piece of advice - bring WARM clothes. It's likely to be really cold.

A look back: In 2004, Athletics and Cubs played each other.

Cubs were down 2-3 to the Athletics. Michael Barrett doubled in the bottom 9th, scoring Todd Hollandsworth and Todd Walker to win the game 4-3.

I can't find a clip anywhere, but I'm sure they'll show it sometime during the broadcast with Hollandsworth lounging around CSN and everything.

The audio clip from this game was one of my favorites from Jon's site.

"LISTEN TO THESE FANS!"

Half of those Cubs "highlights" were just people being ejected and/or arguing with the umps.

2004 Cubs: Very Angry

Well, we got 2 months to see what we got in Soler

I'm getting pretty damn fatigued by him in total though. 3 years in a row with leg injuries (twice hamstrings), and flashes of brilliance in between mediocre and terrible play. There's still a good chance he becomes a monster or even just a useful above average player, but I liked the 6 weeks or so I forgot he was on the team.

I don't him there is a remote chance he becomes a monster

They laughed at you, Jorge. They said mean things about you like they "don't him there". They didn't believe. I did. I hope you remember who stood tall beside you.

But seriously, he had a .362 wOBA over his last month. He's had just over a full seasons worth of PAs in his career. We've all been spoiled by Bryant hitting from day one.

I have a 50% chance to be awake by the third inning
