Cubs add Chapman for Torres, et al. imb wishes we paid more

well its definitely not going to be straight up.

 

The Montgomery trade was exactly the type of transaction I've come to expect from this front office. Giving up Torres and more for the rest of the year of Chapman seems out of character and kind of surprising.

 

This reminds me of Red Sox Thoyer! Balls to the Wall!

 

Could be Theo knowing he isn't going to sign an extension so going for glory one last year.

They literally asked Rondon about Chapman during the Mets series. His response:

 

"If they bring in a Chapman or Miller and they take my spot, whatever, horsefeathers happens. I can't control that. The most important thing for me is to come into the game, pitch my inning - whatever inning they put me in - and do my job."

If the Cubs trade Gleyber Torres for Aroldis Chapman and don't extend him, I'll be shocked. Doesn't sound like a Theo & Jed move at all. I'm in agreement with the others that think this doesn't happen without Chapman extending and if it's 4/60, I'd consider that good value.

Perhaps not, but there's something else going on beyond a swap of Torres/Chapman. It may be that the trade is being expanded, it may be an extension, but I really believe there's more to it.

Ok. There's also been rumors about Warren and Candelario that have been shot down. Plenty of crazy rumors out there. I just think she gets a lot of unfair criticism.

A lot of the criticism she gets is unfair, but that doesn't change the fact that she's objectively bad.
