They should tell him to beat that info into Olney also.

Actually, Olney followed it up with......I get it, Schwarber is a lefty, middle of the order bat, that's 30/100 year in, year out. Can't trade that for a relief pitcher.

You think there is a chance Schwarber catches and Conteras plays outfield?

Yes, as long as they feel it won't compromise his knee catching. In an ideal world he catches ~25 games next year with ~120 in the OF. Contreras catches ~90 and ~50 in the field and Montero catches ~30 games.

Oh God, idiot trying to justify Schwarber for Chapman.

As in a fan or like a commentator? Because that's just not acceptable at all.

Ravech said the Cubs have prospects that can give you what Schwarber can. Maybe not HRs, but better defense maybe more speed. And Chapman throws 105mph and the Yankees shorten games, blah blah blah. Said, "yeah Chapman doens't guarantee you a world series, but neither does Schwarber"

Holy horsefeathers. Like, how do you not at all factor in control? Five years for two months, and if you think the Cubs are a lock for the playoffs, five years for two weeks.

Come on.

Sorry in advance for jinxing but Kyle has a 0.75 ERA over his last 7 appearances (6 starts and 1 two inning relief appearance) and hasn't allowed an ER in his last 18.1 IP

Who has a better collection of defensive players than this group?

Heyward

Baez

Russell

Almora

Rizzo

Trick question. Nobody.

And that's without including the guy with the second highest defense rating per FG on the team.

Because the media seems to believe the Cubs should completely sell out and do everything possible to win the World Series this season, even though they can add Miller, Chapma, Rich Hill, Reddick and Lucroy and probably increase their chances of winning the World Series by like 2%
