Hey guys I think we're unbroken. I'm giving most of the credit to Butters. Guy just knows how to create game threads. Gotta be our designated thread starter for the playoffs.

I never thought I'd feel so good about David Ross after resenting his entire existence last year (because I'm a bad guy).

He's been so much fun this year, and what a good dude. What an amazing swan song for his career.

I am pretty close to preferring him starting over Miggy.

And I had a similar hatred of him last year.

They're a fine platoon because Ross, as nice as his bat has looked this year, still struggles mightily against right handed pitching, and he probably can't keep this up healthwise as a starter.

Butters needs to be 3rd in the order for game threads, you know, to slump bust during elimination games.

I was hoping Zorbs went yard there so we could have a 6 run inning for the 3rd straight day, which would have been the first time since 1889. There's still time I guess

1.2, he just passed Rizzo

LMAO amazing.

Also a little depressing.

Get better soon, Riz.

He's had a .210 BABIP and peripherally all his stats are about the same (though his line drive percentage is a little lower than usual, but his medium and hard hit contact are higher)

His lower WAR also comes from the defensive stats hating him which I kinda sorta don't trust with Anthony because I think he's pretty good from just my eye test? I dunno maybe thats just the fan in me and my bias

Only 4 innings since we're at home and won't get to bat in the 9th. :(

For sure, I just think Rossy does a better job defensively, is a better framer (although not by much), does a better job blocking balls, controlling the running game. No idea which one has better chemistry with his starters but I'm sure Ross grades out well there as well. I am fine with the platoon as it is, but I don't dread seeing Ross on the lineup card anymore at all.

Good AB by Javy too. Like Big Slick said, I thought he'd be swinging out of his shoes. First Wrigley wind blowing out AB in a while and Soler just homered. But two good takes a couple wild hacks then a no leg kick bullet liner into left off a fastball in the zone up. He's been rolling over or hitting those without much authority lately, so was nice to see him tattoo one with a controlled swing on a 2 strike count.

And yeah, Addy's looked great today.

Have the people that approved of Coomer doing the play by play for the 5th inning actually listened to it?

Ron Santo used to do the same, (or there was some guest announcer that did for 1 inning while Pat went on break?) and they just continued the tradition

"tradition"

Important not to give a dong up here so that the middle innings are less stressful for our bunch.

More importantly, run differential. Come'on now.
