Have the people that approved of Coomer doing the play by play for the 5th inning actually listened to it?

Ron Santo used to do the same, (or there was some guest announcer that did for 1 inning while Pat went on break?) and they just continued the tradition

"tradition"

I don't believe Santo ever did it. It was always the update guy, several of whom have gone on to full time play-by-play gigs. It makes 0 sense why they use Coomer.

I'm pretty sure Hughes has the 5th inning off contractually, the problem is not having an actual PBP person do it like they have in the past, where someone like the updates guy is an aspiring PBP guy(for the life of me I can't remember any of the names) and does it.

I remember he use to take a full inning off, like just completely remove his headset and not say anything. Now he is still there but is just letting Coomer do PBP.

CUBS are 7-0 (1.000) when they hit at least 3 HRs.... 24-14 (.632) when they don't

CUBS are 23-0 (1.000) when they score 6 runs or more.... 8-14 (.364) when they don't

Go CUBS !!

Wind shifted and is now blowing in...dongs will now be scarce.

You forgot this one...

There will be dongs today. That ball had no business carrying to the track.

So I was right before I was wrong.

it felt different than his normal call. Or I had a reaction to it unlike I normally do. Edited by badger
