Lots of wailing and fussin' and feudin' and general whining in the last game thread. I'll chalk it up to witnessing the bizarre phenomenon that is Tommy La Stella: Awesome Baseball Player. It's a weird and uncomfortable thing to watch, like a cow talking or The Big Bang Theory.

So the Nats are sending a pretty good pitcher to the mound, but for the third game in a row the first picture I find of their starter makes them look really terrified/unsure of their pitching ability:

"Uhhhhhmmmm, this pitch is good enough, I GUESS." That kind of self-doubt is a recipe for a dongin'.

Meanwhile, Hammel looks badass as hell and clearly does not give any of the fucks about who he is facing:

Probably feels pretty good since he's a career 9-0 against the Nats, for those that care about such things.

Let the mighty dongfest...CONTINUE!!!

"Throw a change up, that's a dongin'

Throw a curveball, that's a dongin'

Throw a slider, that's a dongin'

Throw a fastball, ooooh you better believe that's a dongin'"

I never though my first game threads would be for such a couple of epic series. I feel giddy.

And thanks again for letting me step in after missing the first one. That's teamwork, dammit.

I'm good with taking credit for starting this and then you taking it from there.

He has a bit of a Dave Grohl resemblance in this pic.

Nationals v. Hammel

Baseball-Reference's Bat v. Pitch is down

Cubs v. Gonzalez

Doesn't even matter, we're gonna dong the hell out of this bum

Stat of the day: if the Cubs gave every team a 2 run handicap this year, their record would be the third best in the NL at 17-11

Gio likes to throw his fastball up in the zone. I'm going on record that Soler gets hold of one and sends it a long, long way.

I can't believe I've gotten to the point that I'm disappointed whenever Ross isn't in the lineup.

Same. I really like that young man.

Long term contract! At least the length of Lester's deal ought to do it.

We're gonna make Gio Gonzalez's 2016 ERA look like is 2015 ERA after tomorrow.

Read this with a cockney accent.

Soler is the new La Stella; I am now bummed to see him in the lineup instead of Baez or, insanely, La Stella.

Warm day today= outfielders get it going. Dongs by Soler and Heyward. Somebody post that chart again, plz
