I irrationally hate it when other teams are good against us.

I can't imagine how much other teams hate us.

Jayson Werth was such a colossally dumb signing, like, it boggles my mind why any professional paid to run a baseball team would do that

They've lucked out in hitting really hard on some draft picks and Daniel Murphy deciding he's gonna be magnificent at age 31 all of a sudden.

Coomer...you give the basic information first (safe/out, ball/strike, etc.) and THEN you can give your long-winded, rambling explanation.

I'm not sure why you're so upset. That was ridiculously close and like somebody else already said, I don't think they'd have changed the call on the field if they'd called him safe to begin with. Simmer down.

It actually made sense from a PR standpoint; at the time, the Nats had a great farm system, but nothing on the big league field, and nobody in the stands. Paying big money for Werth, who was having a great run with the Phillies, and signing him away was the first sign since the move from Montreal that they were ready to win.

$/WAR is not perfect, but Werth has been worth $94.7M so far in his time with the Nats (despite a few major injuries). He'll have been paid $101M when he finishes this year.

Yeah, they'll probably end up with some negative value out of this year and next, but it's not even close to being some colossal disaster.

I don't think it was close at all. You can clearly see when the glove makes impact and it's after the foot hits the bag...to me, it's hovering over Rizzo's leg before that. That's obviously my interpretation, but I'm kinda surprised that people even think it's close.

I'm not upset. We're winning 2-0 and we're 20-6. I do, however, hate that call.

Ha! That's a phrase I actually use quite often.

I'm just afraid that, if we keep doing this well, we'll become spoiled and expect everything to go our way. There hasn't been much to pout about so far.

I guess Murphy "decided" to work hard and practice.
