I'm not gonna be sucked into Dusty Baker rage. The Cubs are awesome and he doesn't matter.

 

For a millisecond I wanted to get angry and start typing, then I just threw my hands up and laughed. Who cares? Have fun in Washington, Dusty.

I will, however, get angry is Jesse Rogers or one of the writers goes back down the 'Dusty is actually a great manager' road.

 

We've always known Dusty and his philosophy/approach were dumb. I'm hoping the people that cover this team can see that after the last 18 months or so.

Gee, I seem to remember Six Finger, Farnsworth, Remlinger and Sweaty Joe Borowski being pretty solid in '03.

It's so Dusty to be talking about this now, but he's not really wrong.

 

He did the same horsefeathers in 08, saying he was set up to fail after 04.

The lineup makes me ill. If you don't believe in Soler enough that you are starting Kalish it's time to send Soler to Iowa where at least he can try and figure things out and get some confidence back. Kalish has no business starting in the majors on a competitive team. Terrible lineup. I don't normally question Joe but I don't understand this one. I get that Left handers are hitting Ross better but Im still not getting why you start Kalish. I'd also rather see Baez in the lineup for the defense alone... *sigh* w/e I figured if we were going to lose one it would be tonight.

 

If only Willson Contreras was here, he might help prevent us from a 20-7 start.

I feel like I want Cubs fans to give Harper a nice ovation each time he comes up. Talk to him nicely while he's in the field. Sort of a small free agent pitch if Ricketts can come through with $400 million.

I'm totally ok with not completely challenging Harper with the bases empty and 2 outs tbh

I know that's usually not a great reason, but I remember watching Pujols a lot in the later part of his final season with the Cards and saying on here how he just doesn't look the same and was striking out on some horsefeathers I hadn't seen before. Which is why I didn't want him in free agency. Granted it was just dumb luck, but still.
