just a question to ponder

if we had 5 arrietas...or even the mets staff lets say

how many games would we win?

not that our rotation isn't really good

By the stats, we had a better rotation last year even with our morass of muck in the fifth slot.

yeah, i know.

i'm just saying, this offense with TOR guys at the back end basically instead of just good back end guys like we have...how the hell would they even lose 50 games?

But because the stats wouldn't allow for Jake replicating his previous season, right?

No, he's saying the Cubs had a better rotation than the Mets last year.

I'm actually just saying that we had better stats. I'm not even sure about that...I just remember torturing Mets fans by saying that last fall.

Yeah if I remember correctly, the cubs were better in WAR, FIP, XFIP, even ERA, whip, etc. I think the cubs were generally ranked between 1-4 most statistics and the mets were like 4-8, and if I remember correctly, the better the statistic, the worse the mets were usually ranked.

I believe this is the first time since '95 that the Cubs are 2-0.

Assuming I did the math right - (1-(Win%)^2)^20 - the Cubs had roughly a 0.5% chance of going 20 years without starting 2-0. I just used the aggregate winning percentage over the 20 years.

The Cubs are now 65-38 (102 win pace) in regular season games since Schwarber joined the team.

The Cubs are now 2-0 (162 win pace) in regular season games since Heyward joined the team.
