Dayum. 1st place to 2nd place; 35 extra bases. Second place to last place; 28 extra bases.

ETA, Javy somehow doesn't lead the category which I am forced to assume means he has taken too many singles 1st to home and dropped his ranking.

I wonder if they will have to go to D.C. to find out whether there will be a game or whether they could be notified ahead of time that the game is cancelled because of the weather. The forecast for Thursday is 100% chance of rain.

Tropical storm force winds (up to 39 mph) are expected to possibly arrive around the conclusion of the game.

Does MLB really want two teams to fly out of all that after the game? Do they really want to take fans away from storm prep so they can attend?

Seems legit crazy to me.

Don’t worry, they’ll screw us over by making us fly to DC, sit at the park for a few hours and then call the game. Maybe they’ll even play an inning or two.

Another fun fact of the 30 in 30 the Cubs are going through the last game is an 8:40 start time, so they will probably be getting home on their off day at like 5:00 or 6:00 a.m.

Z was a 4.5 WAR a year pitcher for 8 years and then basically got drummed out of the league at age 31 for being a head case. I don’t know how Theo/Joe would have handled him differently, but I guarantee they would have handled him better.

Wasn't Theo the one that immediately dumped him after taking over with the Cubs?

Two months later, but from what I'm posting below there was no saving Z as a Cub.

On August 12, 2011, against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field, Zambrano allowed five home runs. After the fifth home run he allowed, he threw two inside pitches at Chipper Jones. Zambrano was subsequently ejected from the game by home plate umpire Tim Timmons. This would turn out to be Zambrano's final appearance with the Cubs. Following his ejection, Zambrano cleaned out his locker from the visiting team's clubhouse, and told the team's personnel that he was retiring.[68] The next day, on August 13, the Cubs suspended Zambrano for 30 days, preventing him from performing or attending any activity with the club, as well as having his pay suspended for a period of 30 days.[69] Zambrano later apologized to the Cubs and their fans, saying he wanted to "remain a Cub for life" and that his comments about retiring were said out of frustration. He appealed for a shorter suspension through the MLBPA.[70] On September 2, the club announced that Zambrano would not participate for the remainder of the 2011 season.[71] Cub teammates did not express sympathy for his plight, with veteran pitcher Ryan Dempster remarking, "He's made his bed. Let him sleep in it. It's not like it's something new."[72] As Zambrano spent the rest of the 2011 season on the restricted list, he finished the year 9–7 with a 4.82 ERA in 24 starts.

I have absolutely no memory of this happening at all, I must have been really checked out.
