Doesn't matter much, but ND vs. Texas moved to Sunday 9/4 for TV. Ultra-awesome day of CFB on 9/3 gets fractionally less so.

I would say not having to see ND's stupid faces on TV makes it a net positive for the rest of us

Fair, but now there are no alternatives if you want to watch CFB that Sunday night for whatever reason, whereas there's a good chance like 3 other awesome games were going to be on during the ND game before

Congrats NCAA, you win again. No more satellite camps, despite the fact that it is hurting no one.

Its hurting Nick Saban's feelings.

I would like a poll of every power 5 head coach to see what the results are.

Crap my OP meant to say Congrats SEC, not Congrats NCAA.

I would think the majority of HCs outside of the SEC wouldnt give 2 craps. Big Ten coaches would all before it, and SEC coaches all against it

So southern conference voted against, northern conferences voted for. What a random coincidence.

I was about to say there are several southern schools in C-USA, which I'm sure there are, but frankly I can't remember who's in that league.

Big 12 to add two schools to actually get to 12.

BYU and Boise? Memphis maybe?

Houston?

I'm not sure if Texas (and it's pretty much their conference afterall) would want to add another in-state school to the Big 12, especially one that has the ability to be pretty decent, for two reasons: They don't want to battle Houston for recruits (hey, come play at Houston, we're in the Big 12 too just like the other guys in this state). Second, adding Houston doesn't expand the TV footprint for the Big 12.

I understand the first, but the second is inconsequential until/unless they scrap the Longhorn Network for an all-encompassing Big VII network

I haven't seen this. Their little report to determine what their best course of action playoff-wise said that would be their best option, but I don't know that they've said they're going to act on it.

I don't mean footprint to mean "eyes on the screen" viewership relating to a network's bottom line. I guess this has more to do with the conference as a whole than to Texas specifically, but by expanding the footprint I meant that more people are able to see the teams in the Big 12. For example, if Boise State joined the Big 12, you'd have a whole new state that is paying attention to the conference. Add BYU and you'd have another state paying attention. Thus, potential recruits in those states are more in tune with what the Big 12 is about and so teams can go in there and have a better time getting visits or whatever. There has been a surge in the past few years of kids from SE Texas going to SEC schools and most think that has to do with TAMU joining the SEC.

The Big 12 had their shot to add FSU, Louisville, and/or Clemson and blew it by holding steady. Not really sure what the course of action would be this time around buy a new Commish is needed as well. Agreed that adding another Texas school does little. Boise St would be awesome from my selfish point of view but is that really what they are relegated too? BYU makes sense I guess.
