During the past week, the Belgian league seemed to be getting an odd influx of US players:

- Ben Lederman (AA Gent - from Barcelona's youth program)

- Frantzdy Pierrot (RE Mouscron - previously with Coastal Carolina)

- Brendan Hines-Ike (KV Kortrijk - from Örebro)

(all three completely unknown to me)

I recall how nuts American fans were about Julian Green not that long ago, and I see our relatively staid reactions to Tim Weah and I think maybe we're getting better as fans?

He scored for PSG today, is a teenager, and has the best pedigree of any American player, ever, and the internet soccer community is pretty chill about it.

he hasn't played much for the senior side yet - I love his attitude even if he is crazy optimistic. Hopefully he can find minutes maybe even some before PSG leads 4-0.

I think most have realized that for every 10 legit prospects we have we can hope for 1-3 make it to the Nats. He reminds me of a young mans poor Henry, which I would take everyday. But yeah he needs minutes and not just practice with the stars.

We knew this was coming, but thought we had another year. Still pretty sad about it but it was a great run. Easily my favorite Nat being a Texan and all.

At the Portland-Toronto game tonight. For those who watch MLS, since when did Michael Bradley start playing centerback?

I don't watch Toronto FC a ton, but I believe he did it in emergencies last year and more often this year. Probably because TFC has been hammered by injuries + fixture congestion so there's more times where that's been needed.

Yeah they're much stronger at CM than they are CB and he's smart enough to pull off the position swap in emergencies.

He had the one mistake which lead to the second goal (probably was partially on the keeper but I haven’t seen a replay) but overall he was really good back there. Shut horsefeathers down for the most part.

I would think Bradley's defensive mid role is closer to center back than attacking mid anyway - at least for the MNT

So apparently a good chunk of the Champions League and all of the Europa League will be on something call B/R Live, which sucks. TNT will still offer two UCL games per day so I'm sure they'll have all the good matches on there.

I always liked watching the UCL and Europa highlight shows every week which I'm sure TNT won't be airing.

Just a crappy deal all around. Wish they would have stayed on FS1.

ah bad news. Hopefully Mezcal has the challenge they end up on for my soccer lunches . . .

Also, hopefully MU gets knocked out so we don't have to watch that tedium.
