I was just looking, because I still don't think the Astros are all that great, it appears the Astros have only played 13 games vs winning teams so far this year. They have to have one of the easiest schedules so far, no?

i remember people saying the same horsefeathers about us last year

and that tends to be the case when you win like 73% of your games. it's not like their run differential isn't great too. they're not just beating those teams...they're crushing them.

A huge chunk of their run differential is from the last week, and they're 5 games better than their BaseRuns record. They're 1 game ahead of last year's Cubs and like 40 runs worse on run differential. The Astros are very good, but they aren't 110 wins or 2016 Cubs good.

never meant to imply that they were

I saw on the MLB Network scroll the other night that the Angels recalled Brooks Pounders and sent down Damien Magnifico. I know the Angels have a bad system but I don't think making up fake players is going to help much.

Did Mike Schmidt imply that you can't build successful baseball teams around players who cannot speak English?

I guess this brand of baseball stupidity is going to be a public thing now.

“I don’t think that should be legal,” Remy said. “I really don’t.”

“What is it you don’t like about that?” asked Dave O’Brien, Remy’s partner in the booth.

“Learn baseball language. You know, learn—it’s pretty simple,” Remy said. “You break it down pretty easy between pitching coach and pitcher after a long period of time.”

“I would say that probably, you know, they’re concerned about nuance being lost in some of these conversations,” O’Brien responded, trying to steer the discussion back to more inclusive ground.

i mean i know you're making a joke but how would that even make sense

The biggest crime of this season is it horsefeathering made you the WOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSST.

Yes, if you want to be a horsefeathering dork then technically all of the teams would just scale back and the Cubs would be still be in 12th. I hate you.

The juiced ball has probably killed us this year, in all honesty. I'm planning on writing on article on it. But our pitchers have given up a ton of the just-barely variety of home runs and not so many no-doubters. The wind at Wrigley definitely plays a role in this, but with a non-juiced ball, we probably aren't giving up 4 homers a game, like we are now.

I also was wondering, after given time to think, how much the seems lowering affects pitchers (ours specifically) to throw pitches with more break. Obviously everyone has to deal with it but still if pitches just aren't moving marginally a little more it could also add to the fact the ball carries better with lower seems.

Judge has a 380 ISO

A rookie has the best OPS in baseball. He's in line for a Triple Crown. Say what you will about RBI but this season from a rookie is incredible.

I hope he keeps it up. I know he's a Yankee and I never pull for them but this is historical stuff what he's doing. Gotta admire it.

i actually never understood the yankee hate. is it just overexposure from the media? i mean i am sure lots of people hate the cubs for that. i have a good friend that is a huge yankees fan and he always pulled for the cubs so i kind of return the favor for the yankees with him. plus i'm really happy for starlin.

i would LOVE for a cubs/yankees WS this year. that would be amazing.
