So USA needs Italy to beat Mexico or Mexico to beat Italy scoring at least 8 runs for the USA to advance if I'm understanding the tiebreaker correctly

But if Mexico and Italy go extra innings and Mexico wins while scoring 5, Italy goes as long as the winning run comes after one out in extras. Crazy way to determine who wins a tie breaker, but they go by runs allowed versus outs gotten, between 3 tied teams. USA has given up 11 runs and gotten 54 outs. So far Italy has given up 6 runs with 27 outs. Mexico is the home team. So if they are winning after the top of the 9th and have 5 runs, Italy will have given up 11 runs in 51 outs. So USA advances. But if the 5th run scores after even one out in extras, Italy will have given up 11 runs while getting more than 54 outs, so they advance. No idea what happens if they Mexico walks it off in 10 with no outs.

I once read about Mike Trout that he has never cared about team success, just getting paid the most amount of money and he loves Anaheim. If that’s the case, then he’s very likely content with how his Baseball career has panned out.
