Wild Card Round - (if you’re gonna get all upset and stop reading when I say best-of-three

I'm all upset and stopped reading. Everyone stop trying to screw up a good playoff format.

The realignment is going to force a different playoff format, so... Not saying you have to agree with mine, your premise...

I definitely prefer consistency across leagues, but if there was a big desire for a middle ground, I like the proposal where the DH is tied to the SP, so when he exits its NL rules. Gets rid of most the bad at bats while leaving lots of the strategy part.

This is a good compromise. I've never heard of this proposal, but I like it. So I don't really like the DH, but I'm pretty pissed off that not having the DH in the NL cost us Ohtani.

The #1 concern/change I want is an automated strike zone and taking that responsibility away from shitty blind Umps. This Cubs offense would be much better with some form of an automated strike zone IMO.

Giants closer Hunter Strickland apologized to his team and fans and said he'd consider anger management counseling three days after injuring his hand punching a door in frustration after a blown save against Miami..."I think that obviously my anger in these moments have gotten the best of me and caused stupid decisions, so I don't think I should be this angry person," Strickland said. "I think focused is the better word. We do have to be focused and locked in, focused on getting those outs.

Last season he threw at Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper three years after he homered off Strickland in the 2014 NL Division Series.

I don't like Strickland and think he's a jerk, but maybe anger management counseling will help him be less of a jerk. I picture this guy when I think of him:

Is every playoff race already settled in the AL? I kind of feel like they are.

Pretty much. Its Yankees or Red Sox for the East and some crappy battle between the Mariners and the Angels for the 2nd WC.

As of about two weeks ago it looked like there was at least a chance for the Indians to piss away the AL Central to the Twins or Tigers. But they’ve won 10 of 15 and suddenly look pretty solid there.

How long would it take after the DH is instituted league-wide until people are clamoring for shortstops to have their ABs covered by guys with Dadbods who can't field?

Yeah, how long before we get to see an all-Javy defense and a lineup of 260 lb guys hitting 110 mph line drives.

For years I've wanted the All-Star Game to change to select the 8 best fielders in the league on defense, and the 9 best hitters regardless of position. Now I kinda want to see it every day.

So in almost four fewer seasons (he only played 40 games in 2011), Trout has more bWAR since 2008 than any other player. Kershaw is second among all players with 60.1

He's also first in fWAR in that span, with 61.2. Second is also Kershaw at 58.9. Next best position player is Votto with 54.9.

If you extend it to 2007, Cano and Beltre pass him in bWAR. But in fWAR you have to extend it to 2006 for Cabrera to pass him, and even then he's only at 62.1.

Not that it means anything but how is Joey Votto not in the top 5 for ASG voting at 1B? Jose Martinez is in front of him? Oh hell no.

No one hates Joey Votto more than Reds fans.

I was at the DH games there on Memorial Day weekend and the Reds fans by me were very loud about how much they hated him and how they liked Billy Hamilton more.

Reds fans are really awful. Hilarious that Cincy is considered a baseball town

Am I not allowed to complain about Kris Bryant’s funk because he won the MVP? That’s the logic we are working with here

I'm sorry, but it's absolutely a Derwood moment.

He essentially said, "I just want to yell about our MVP, alright!?" and then in his very next post he made fun of Reds fans for hating their own MVP.

He just talked about griping about Bryant's long slump, which most people here have at some point or another (or at least made fun of it/him) vs. some chumps in Cincinnati HATING Joey Votto and preferring baseball freakshow Billy Hamilton instead.

Granted, maybe Derwood actually thinks Bryant is a bum and Tyler Colvin is his favorite player....but I doubt it.
