That is a worse idea than the horsefeathering blue shell in Mario Kart.

What the horsefeathers is wrong with the blue shell???

Apart from making winning a bad thing, absolutely nothing.

And that doesn't go for all power-ups? Red shells punish being ahead as well. So does the likelihood of getting nothing but useless junk while sitting in first.

On the flip side, get a blue shell and work your way to 1st on your own rather than using it, and you're basically invincible, rewarded for winning.

Red shells only reach ahead by one dood. They don't automatically off the person in first no matter what position you are in when you acquire it. The "useless junk" can often deflect a red shell, or make it more difficult to be caught...so I don't really see where you are going with this. Blue shells are different than other power ups and they are horrible.

the ninth inning thing is a terrible nonsense nightmare, but i like the make-your-own-lineup thing quite a bit for both teams starting in the eleventh or something. as the sam miller piece argues, if we’re going to negate the fun of long extra innings, let’s install something that would be even more fun. this would accomplish that.

Yeah, I'd be OK with basically starting a lot of the lineup over again once the game goes into extras.

if a game reaches the 12th inning, have pitchers hit and hitters pitch. Everyone clamors for Anthony Gose and Andrelton Simmons.

The Major League Baseball Players Association has filed a grievance against MLB, claiming that four teams - the Tampa Bay Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Oakland Athletics and Miami Marlins - have not spent revenue-sharing money in the fashion intended by the collective bargaining agreement.

MLB responded with a statement to the Times: “We have received the grievance and believe it has no merit.”

I know it takes a minute during commerical break but doesn't running out from the OF sort of help the pitcher warm up?

Probably depends on a individual basis. You would think you wouldn’t want your relief pitcher coming in the game winded or with an elevated heart rate though by the time he has to pitch.

I feel like few relievers wouldn't be too be winded after a 200-300 ft jog.

Unless we are talking about Ray King

It has nothing to do with whether or not it's good for the pitcher and everything to do with the fact that bullpen carts horsefeathering RULE.

They cut down time RPs have to come in games now by 20-30 seconds. So they gotta kinda hurry to the bullpen if they want their 8 warm up pitches.
