Several weeks ago, I assumed a @Northwestern game was a guaranteed loss. But now that a) I see how good Temple is and b) see how well PSU has played recently and c) see how bad NU has been recently, I feel a lot better. This is the last chance for an 8 win season with UM and MSU after the bye

Northwestern's only losses were against 2 very good teams. They got completely smoked in those games, but they were against good teams. They've also beaten a very good team (Stanford) and a pretty good team (Duke).

It's (obviously) no guaranteed loss for PSU but I wouldn't look at the UM and Iowa games as reasons for optimism.

Iowa's remaining schedule is pretty easy but the first part was tougher than it gets credit for. I would have enjoyed at least being ahead of one loss teams for a week. Oh well. I'm not convinced we run the remaining regular season table anyways (let alone beat Ohio State in the championship game)

Alabama is evidently getting credit for 3 "quality wins" over A&M, Wisconsin and Tennessee, who have combined to beat....?

(notices ND is way higher than I thought and probably than they ought to be)

These guys are geniuses!

I'm struggling to see how that is noticably better than Iowa's top 3 of Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Pitt.

I was surprised to see A&M as high as we were. We beat ASU to start the season but other than beating UCLA they've been a big disappointment. And we also beat Mississippi State. I don't think that's overly impressive at this point either, despite also being 6-2. Even though they keep denying it, it's obvious that Kyle Allen wasn't right in the last two games which is piss poor timing as that was when we played Alabama and Ole Miss. They definitely deserve credit for winning those games handily but I think they would have been a lot more competitive had Allen been healthy at QB or they had given Kyler Murray a chance to truly run the offense in those games. The QB situation was badly mishandled in our two biggest games of the year.

I'm very thankful that Ole Miss played A&M with a beat-up Allen. Man, he was baaaaaaaaad. Murray is so entertaining to watch. Dude looks like he is in fast forward compared to everyone else on the field.

I still can't figure out why they waited so damn long to yank him in that game. I get that Murray was on some unannounced suspension but Hubenak should have replaced Allen much, much sooner. We probably still would've lost but maybe we could have dome SOMETHING with him in the game.

Florida losing 7-6 at home to Vanderbilt in the fourth quarter.

This forum used to be a lot more active in terms of college football discussion.

Yeah, but I made tadowdaddy promise not to post in here as a condition of letting him back in.
