Arrieta hadn't given up 4+ runs in almost four months.

Figures the one time it happens again it's against the Cardinals in a huge playoff game.

Is it a legitimate theory that Jake is gassed from the workload and his mechanics are effected?

I'm not criticizing the workload. Because of it were leading game 3 of the NLDS, but just want to know if this is a blip or should we be worried for any further Jake starts this season.

Heyward hit a pitch that missed out of the zone out to left center(partially due to the wind)

I'm late, but this. That thing was 6 inches off the plate and he hammered it.

The Cardinals hit Strop like he tips his pitches and only they have figured it out.

Maddon, don't be stubborn. They own him. Do NOT put him in.

why do you think he's warming with Richard in the 6th and not being held for a setup situation

No situation is appropriate. He needs to have his ass on the bench. Let him out if he wants to trot home with the runner during a walkoff.

Why does Joe insist on using Strop against the Cardinals? He's probably in after 1 batter by Richard or to start the 7th. Makes no sense...his career numbers against St. Louis are ATROCIOUS!!!!

I dunno, but I wish Lester had had a better season... and better flipping RUN SUPPORT. You can't win a title on the arm of one pitcher. Hell, back in 2003 the Cubs couldn't do it on the arms of three.

Jake giving up the 2-run HR like did doesn't surprise me. That two guys he walked earlier came around to score is what really surprised me.

Ball is just jumping tonight + good players hitting some good pitches.

Stay with it, no reason we can't put up 8 runs before this is over

Someone tell the Cardinals that they're literally worse than cockroaches, scorpions, and parasites mixed together and everyone wants them to go the [expletive] away.
