I know many have already said it, but if that sequence of events happened to the Cubs I would probably have holes in my walls.

You know Matt Holliday is still playing right? He's due for one ridiculous takeout slide this series.

Greinke stayed away from commenting. Collins was seething and very short about it.

Gotta wonder if retaliation will be going hard after Seager or one of their 95+MPH guys gets a Dodger.....One of the other is happening though.

I'm struggling to not respond to Dodger fans on Facebook who apparently love Chase Utley.

I mean, I'm embarrassed Utley went to UCLA and these fucks are lapping it up.

Mark Buehrle is retiring but why did he not just play in the playoffs and then retire? The man is getting $20 mil to play this year, he's had decent numbers (comparably) to the rest of their rotation, would probably start a game in the post season.

Definitely wasn't Buehrle's decision. He is on record stating that he wanted to pitch in the playoffs. The Jays went with a four man rotation and Buehrle was the odd man out and left off the ALDS roster.

While I think it's a crap play and should be illegal, that rule only covers a fielder trying to field a batted ball, not catching a throw.

a base runner willfully and deliberately interferes with a batted ball or a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball with the obvious intent to break up a double play, the ball is dead.

So for optimal start times in games 3-5 we root for Toronto today and the winner of game 3 between the Mets and Dodgers to win game 4 as well

yeah I haven't followed really, what are the possibilities for start times monday

If Toronto wins, Game 3 is a 5:07 p.m. CT game. If Texas wins, it's 3:37 p.m. CT.

If the rule is going to be that toothless, it needs to be changed (I have hope it will be this off-season, but as resistant to change the MLB is, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't)

Has anyone even seen this rule enforced at all since it was implemented? I haven't

So they were already going to try the NCAA rule during the AFL. This should speed things up in implementing it in the pros.

well on the one hand, [expletive], on the other hand, i could probably leave work early monday if i wanted to, so a 3:30 start would basically get me a half day

im going for texas, sorry boys

I want to say that I vaguely remember this rule being enforced against the Cubs once this season, but I'm not certain.

How would a Wrigley crowd, or any home crowd, have handled that? The tying run scored! At best a bunch of trash gets thrown on field, at worst a full blown riot would happen.
