I watched the end of their game against the Giants the other night. Scully didn't realize an obvious review til like 5 seconds after the ump had a headset on. It was sad.

Was he busy talking about William Mckinley's grand-niece?

Was he busy talking about how the umpire was the son of William Mckinley's grand-niece?

Giants lose 11-3 in a CG by Chris Rusin in Coors. They have lost 6 straight and are 8 back of the Cubs in the loss column.

I'm a lot more interested in catching a team that may well only be 4 up on the Cubs after tonight and has 7 games left against them.

oh good because i wasn't and haven't been aggressively ridiculing the idiots who were worried about blowing the lead over catching the pirates (or previously st louis)

Lol cool your circuits, man. I haven't been following this board that closely of late.

I think Sahadev Sharma might have been the one who programmed David. I mean that mostly as a compliment, as I really like Sahadev, and as a result, David, but both are unafraid to make an aggressively condescending post (or tweet, in Sharma's case) every now and then.

David hates Castro more.

Seems like the brewers are the one team that can beat on the pirates haha who'da'thunk it

Well, and us.

Every team in the NL Central is over .500 against the PIrates.

The Pirates counter that by being 21-5 against the NL West.

To add to that, the Pirates have done better against the Cards and Cubs this year than the Reds and Brewers.

6-7 vs. StL

5-7 vs. ChC

6-9 vs. Mil

4-9 vs. Cin

And despite playing 20 fewer games against the NLE and 27 fewer games against the NLW, the Pirates have as many or more wins against each of those two divisions than they do against the NLC. To put that into context, only two other teams in baseball have more wins against another division than they do their own - Texas (more vs. ALE) and Cleveland (more vs. ALW).

To be honest, I'd love to see the Nats overtake the Mets, because I have a burning hatred for the Mets that I can't really explain to anyone under the age of 30.

I kinda hate the Mets because they aren't very good. Maybe the post-deadline version is a bit better but they'd basically be the Giants if they didn't have over a third of their schedule against the Phillies, Braves, and Marlins.

As of now, the three worst teams in baseball are all in that division. Which means the Cubs (fifth best record in baseball) are in the same place in their division as the Marlins.

You know what, [expletive] 'em all. Let's win games and let them worry about us.

But the thought of the Nats gaining any kind of momentum is a bit nerve racking.

For [expletive]'s sake. They're 7.5 back.

Washington has the same issue that benefits us as the Giants do, if they play well enough to catch us there's a good chance they pass the Mets

And again at this point both teams have to gain 8 games on us over a span of about 30 games. It's possible and its happened before but at that point it takes a complete collapse from one team and a really hot streak for the other

Man I have to hand it to Rockies fans. They have about 30k in Coors tonight for a 55 win team in September. They've been around that if not more every time I've got a Rox game. That fan base deserves way better than what they've been given.

Giants are about to be 9 back in the loss column.

The Nats have 6 left(3 at home) against the Mets and 3 at home versus the O's. The rest of their schedule is 2 at home with the Braves, 1 with the Reds, 3 with the Phillies, and 3 with the Marlins. Road games are 3 each with the Phillies, Marlins, and Braves. They've got it easy, to say the least.
