I'm not a hockey fan and typically stay out of stuff like this- But him withdrawing, has to hurt her case, right? Even if he's pinning this on the mother, it just seems like this can't help the girl in any way whatsoever, right?

Yeah, there's no conceivable way this is good for her.

Who the hell was this guy, Barry Zuckerkorn?

he's very good!

Even Barry could spot balls in two seconds; this guy gets duped by the victim's mother making up a fake rape kit?

That's what i was thinking reading her stuff coming on my feed

I'm not the biggest DiCaro fan but she's getting a lot of [expletive] for nothing on her Twitter feed. She's always been neutral through all of this giving her lawyer POV and (probably) wrongly trusted the accuser's lawyer (not the worst thing in the world)

Accuser's lawyer messed up. Should have vetted the mom more thoroughly before yesterday's news conference. Did he even contact the Hamburg Police or Eerie County before yesterday's news conference to get their side?

Dammit. The Cardinals fan is the voice of reason.

Everyone on the B/B show is trying their darnest to have some semblance of neutrality, but there is nothing that would ever convince them than Kane is innocent. Their true colors shine through. B/B continually pat themselves on the back for being nearly in their own minds the only voice of justice.

Has she been neutral though? Hasn't she been in favor of them cutting or trading Kane all along?(I'm asking, because she litters my timeline so much in these instances, I don't come close to reading them all) By wanting that(if I'm right on her), doesn't that basically put her on the girls side?

Again, not a hockey fan and if this happened to a Cub, I'd hate it and wouldn't know where I'd stand on the player being on the team or not(at this pre trial stage). But if you want the guy off the team, pre trial and before anything is actually known, it seems to me she does have her mind made up. If my thinking is wrong here, I'm more than willing to listen and learn otherwise.

I mean it's not like Patrick Kane is the greatest human being ever going into this. He assaulted a cab driver six years ago over chump change on an NHL contract. I think if this was (god forbid) Jonathan Toews, people would have a completely different viewpoint on this.

DiCaro is a rape victim, right? I understand her feelings on the matter, but maybe she's not the best person to cover this case.

Apparently now Kane's lawyer has to make a statement tonight. Maybe he should just leave well enough alone at this point.

Yeah Christ I don't get why he's talking at all tonight. He can only make himself look stupid at this point.

If he talks longer than 30 seconds he's gonna say something stupid.

Nah, don't think she's ever mentioned cutting him. They were leaning more towards wanting to suspend him for (at least) training camp since it keeps giving him a platform to proclaim his innocence to millions and essentially call her a liar whenever he gets asked a question while she has to stay nameless and quiet.

Ah OK, it's shown up in my timeline so much, I thought it was her, since I don't have much else in it that'd talk about hockey. My bad.

i don't think she's been neutral at all. she's been all over the stuff that looks bad for kane, but very quiet about the stuff that maybe points the other way. also, retweeting a bunch of neanderthals is pointless. we already know those people exist.

i understand where she's coming from, but it seems misguided. it's disgusting to see pro athletes (or just men in general) constantly get away with this, but it feels like she actually wants this rape to have taken place, just so she can see one of these guys finally go down. i expect more from a journalist.

HAVING SAID THAT, i have no confidence whatsoever in either side. like jersey said, it's very possible the mother reacted out of desperation because she thought a monster was going to get away with it. that was the first thing i thought also, but a lot of scumbags are running with the idea that this exonerates him.

He was talking on twitter last night that now we'll never know what really happened, which is probably true...and lamenting that, which is reasonable.

The he went on about not knowing if he can be a fan of the Blackhawks after all this came out last night, which I think is silly.

If you haven't been reading her tweets, you probably shouldn't judge her intent from them.

She's remained quite neutral, but because she's not been on "Kane's side", she's perceived as being on the "victim's side". She's caught an unreasonable amount of flack, including death threats ...so I'm willing to be a bit understanding of her being a bit hostile toward some twitter people.
