They are gathering info and waiting forensics. It's not new news but it pretty much confirms it is a rape investigation involving Patrick Kane, and, given the fact that Kane or his people have not said otherwise yet, it is directly investigating him.

This detail would be considered important if Kane's attorney came out and said Patrick Kane is not being investigated for rape.

 

I ain't no law dog but it seems to me that when something like this happens people are fairly quick to distance the big name from the investigation if they can distance him, rather than allow public sentiment to run away with the story.

 

Or maybe letting that happen is a way to taint a jury pool and get a case moved for thrown out or something.
