http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2015

Cubs in the top 100:

7 - Schwarber

36 - Torres

41 - McKinney

66 - Edwards

80 - Underwood

Rounding out the rest of the Cubs top 10:

Almore

Happ

Johnson

Dewees

Zagunis

Couldn't find the old thread where we discuss prospect lists so I just put it here.

Kind of surprised that DeWees and Zagunis got in ahead of Jimenez.

All and all, it's not nearly as sexy as last year's, but there's a lot to like about our top 30.

And the fact Almora is in at all, let alone over Jimenez

Contreras continuing to be rarely listed is almost as surprising as how Almora continues to get listed.

Just the tenure system, Almora has been a routine listed guy and Contreras hasn't been, so it can't be changed?

I wonder if to some degree whether while Contreras's defensive tools are solid physically, that perhaps his intangibles don't rate well? Maybe he's quick and has a solid arm, but scouts see him as a poor framer, poor pitch-caller, and poor at working with pitchers?

Fair chance that many rankers have no real scouting info on details like that, though.

He did come in at 11. Personally, I'm not at all surprised that Almora continues to get the benefit of the doubt due to his age, level, and pedigree. Especially with nothing clear cut beyond the top 5. But Edwards has gone from front end stud to a DL stint away from McNutt-esque prospect limbo in a hurry.

I for one have major faith in Baez. I legit expect improved K numbers with the change in his hands, footwork and 2 strike approach.

Mark my words this kid is going to be good. Will still K a lot but he will be much better than 2014 Javy who keep in mind was the youngest player in the NL.

I just don't see the point in waiting very long with Javy. He was red-hot before he got hurt, and he's clearly come back in good form. What are we protecting with Castro, exactly? He's been either the very worst or almost the very worst hitting eligible position player in baseball this season.

Scandalous. He makes sense as a trading chip in a Tyson Ross or Cole Hamels deal.

@TheProfessorCR: @CubsDen You have any clue as to why Eloy Jimenez was pulled in the 5th? Eugene claims it's not an injury...pulled after a K. No dbl swtch

Pretty much has to be something trade related. Was after a swinging K, so only other possibility is that he was tossed for arguing a check swing. Or maybe got into it with the manager for asking him what the hell he was swinging at. Or maybe they just wanted to [expletive] with Twitter.
