If Bryant's ball from the 1st didn't go out and that one did there's no point playing the rest of this one

Not sure if Hamels is making a compelling case for trading for him or for scrapping the SP plan and getting a bat

This is not an overreaction game thread post because I've been thinking about this a bit and have come to terms with our offense: I'm not sure they should do either if the price is at all of any significance. (Unless it's a longer-term asset. No rentals).

This offense just isn't going to be good enough for the Cubs to make the playoffs, with or without one more bat or pitcher.

We should be sellers, imo

Because there's a hot market for hitters who can't hit? Solid take

We could probably get something for Fowler if we pick up salary. Coghlan for sure, he needs to get out of the way for McKinney anyway. Montero might clear waivers later if he can prove he is healthy in late August and be worth a prospect or two.

Just stand pat. It's not necessary to be either a buyer or seller. We aren't a short-term winning team and we aren't desperate for prospects

Do nothing. Stick with "the plan" or whatever the [expletive] we call it these days

Why do you hate the future? That's something Jim Hendry would do.

I'd imagine those guys would only fetch lottery tickets, so I'd prefer if they just kept them to not send the wrong message. That, and at least keep the option open of giving Fowler a qualifying offer.

Except for Montero. To clear his 14 million each of the next few years would be OK.
