Miles says that Russell is hitting 7th, Ross 9th.

EDIT: Real scoreboard pics on Twitter confirm it.

Either a late change or the Cubs' account jumped the gun.

Not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, better chance of more Russell ABs, but he probably won't see much to hit in front of Lester while Ross' best attribute so far, his walks, probably take a hit while not hitting in front of Lester.

yikes means that we have 2 for sure outs at the bottom of the lineup when your running ross out there better off just doing the classic pitcher bats 9th style. i dont get it.

Ross has a .407 OBP and an .836 OPS. I get being frustrated Montero doesn't play more, but we need to stop with the Ross hate for awhile.

Yeah he gets walks hitting ahead of Lester, but Coghlan hits ahead of the other four pitchers and has an OBP well below .300.

I keep forgetting he had a couple good hits in his limited at bats beefing those numbers up.

After checking the mets offensive stats, jeeze they are pretty bad. I remember hearing how the pitching was carrying the load for the team but didnt realize the bats were THAT bad. Then again, i dont think it matters who it is going up against our bullpen, its just toast.

That Mets lineup isn't really good is it.

Duda is the only guy with a wOBA above .330. 5 Cubs regulars beat that mark.

Who's up for the next game thread, me or goony

Also, I am terrified about our chances against the Mets starters. Sure hope I'm wrong. Lester looked pretty good last outing, wouldn't be shocked to see a 2-1 game or something tonight. Of course it's the Cubs though, so who knows.

You go after next loss.

Cool. I'd be more than happy if that's a week from now.

Common sense says we get rolled by the Mets' pitching in the series.

Common sense also said we would roll all over the Brewers, so hopefully the Cubs defy expectations in a good way for once?

I'm reminded of the time Marquis beat Roy Hallday in 2008, so anything can happen I suppose.

OVERRULED. I've had enough of these shenanigans, Mr. Stone!

That's right, I'm doing it old skool.
