Not surprised. That AB in the 9th yesterday was terrible. He's had some ugly PA lately. Kind of funny that we have so many 2B/SS types in the majors or scratching at the majors and we are starting Herrera at 2B.

love his stuff. don't love the arm injury that will inevitably come from throwing so many sliders. but i guess the padres are wise to get a lot of good pitching from him, for cheap, before his arm explodes.

He was on 3rd with Rizzo at the plate, and Middlebrooks was at SS because of the shift. Since there wasn't a defender within 40 feet of him, he danced off 3rd far enough to force Shields to step off and run him back to third on more than one occasion. A pitch or so later a ball in the dirt went through Norris' legs and Herrera scored.
