They won't make Bryant play 14 innings when he has a game in Chicago tomorrow...right??? :beg:

If he sits out both, I'm buying fireworks.

Iowa's starting a double header at 5 PM local time? Kinda weird.

Why is that? It's not like they are trying to get 2 gates and they are both scheduled 7 inning games, right? What would you consider "more normal" 3 or 4?

Thinking about it a bit more it's not terribly odd since MiLB doesn't do day/night double headers, but normally MiLB doubleheaders do have an afternoon game, especially since it's getaway day. Maybe I just never noticed before.

Also of note, Russell will be playing 2B tonight.

Javy was up within a matter of a few weeks after moving to 2B last year, IIRC...

Guess we'll see him Monday.

Not necessarily. He could easily take a couple of ABs leave the game and head to Chicago. Plus the fact that he's playing DH is interesting almost like they don't want him to exert himself too much.

Of course the other side of that is that they are planning on playing him in both double header games, the second game in the field.

It's true! Man I wish they'd call him up soon. I know it's not likely but it's what I want damn it!

He played 2B 7/14 and was with the Cubs 8/5. He got 16 games at 2B.

I think you may have misread it like I first did and thought he's DH'ing, but it says he will be in the lineup of the Double Header.

Here's lineup

Adron Chambers CF

Addison Russell 2B

Kris Bryant 3B

Chris Valaika SS

Mike Baxter 1B

Rubi Silva RF

Rafael Lopez C

Kevin Brown LF

Eric Jokisch P

For another point of comparison, Alcantara's first game in CF was 5/28 but not again until 6/7. After that it was once a week or so, increasing til he played CF 4 of 5 games before his 7/9 call up.

If those two are any indication, it sure seems like Russell might be in the major league team's plans by Memorial day.

Didn't they pull Javy after 1 at bat in a game last year for his call up or am I confused??

Edit: When Javy comes back will he be at 2nd, 3rd, SS, or other?

I thought it was Soler they pulled after one at-bat.

That might've been who it was.

Edit: Soler had two at bats. He struck out then homered off Taijuan Walker then was pulled. That's who I was thinking of.

Russell Double...Bryant grounded out to 3rd.
