Please let Vogelbach have the kind of year that allows him to be the primary rather than secondary piece in a trade for a young stud pitcher.

Not happening. Nobody is trading a top young pitcher for a package built around Vogelbach, even if he has a great year.

Sad but true. Can't remember the last time a prospect came up that was universally considered a DH that had much trade value or top organizational value for that matter. Despite people saying "He'd be great for an AL team" and that possibly being true, I can't recall any AL teams grooming a DH in their system that went on to a successful career or became a primary piece in a deal. Only guy in the minors right now that I can think of who even remotely fits that description is... Steven Moya? Maybe? Only DH guys who are key players in deals are already established as MLB DH's. And most of them moved there after being completely obsolete at playing defense. Would not be surprised if Vogelbach winds up playing first for a season or two on an AL team if he's traded to one.

Clifton is broken again - or at least his control.

2 throwing errors for bryant tonight #-o

He better get that figured out now that the Cubs have Babe Coghlan in LF.

Not a worry, Coghlan will be playing third.

Might be a better defensive alignment

There's also the leverage factor. Teams with a young stud pitcher on the block are going to have no shortage of suitors. Also, it's no secret that he has no future with the Cubs. If it comes down to actively shopping him, this is something that's going to come in every phone call. What he could be is a very enticing secondary piece if we end up trading Castillo or Wood.

He's the primary piece if it's with Castillo or Wood.

Vogelbach is such an anomaly, he has the body of a dongsman but the production of a lead off hitter (minus stolen bases).

So he's Billy Butler?

Billy Butler steals bases.

Voglebach has stolen some bases...
