Well last night's Brewer game was fun to attend. Three Grand Slams (tied for the record) and seven total homers. Yikes.

David Price just threw 51 pitches in the 1st inning on his way to giving up 7 base runners and 6 runs.

And my fantasy team suffers dearly.

I had both Fister and Price going today. Today would have hurt a lot more but I got a good outing from Shark.

Here's a crossover that's not fun at all

We've had 3 starts out of 15 go 6+ IP with less than 2 ER.

The Cardinals have had 9 starts out of 14 go 6+ IP with < 2 ER. It's really a wonder they aren't 5 games clear of everyone already.

It'll catch up with them. No way they can sustain this with that staff.

I feel like we say "no way they can keep this up" with that [expletive] team a lot

True. I felt that way about their avg with RISP 2 yrs ago - wasn't it like .330? Wtf.

Lots of time to go. Our bullpen will get better and their pitching won't continue to do this because they don't have 5 Clayton Kershaws in the rotation.

I reserve the right to pretend I didn't say this when I'm rage-whining in a future St. Louis game thread.

even in my super-optimistic happy times i don't pretend we have a non-fluke chance at finishing higher than the cardinals.

They'd have to have some pitching injuries for sure.

I don't agree with either of these.

But for right now its annoying because 2 runs a game will in fact be enough to beat the brewers.

Today in things that make complete sense: Former Cubs minors mainstay Justin Bour is 2-2 with 2 RBI and a walk against Stephen Strasburg in Miami.

A couple extremely lucky Cardinal pitchers

Carlos Martinez= 100%LOB .178babip

Wacha= 98.8%LOB .202babip

Unfortunately Wainwright and especially Lynn are just legitimately very good.
