What are the odds that Javy never plays in the majors again?

Ever? About as close to 0 as you can get.

Staaaaahp. Even if his contact rate and obp continue to be massive issues, someone would love to take a chance on him at the big league level given middle infield defense and insane power, in an era where power is extremely difficult to find. He is still going to hit the ball out of the ballpark plenty, even if he strikes out 35% of the time and hangs around the Mendoza line.

And I meant this as pretty much a worst case scenario where there are no adjustments etc.

approximately the same as his odds of being killed or seriously injured in some sort of accident.

I would say somewhere close to double, or maybe even triple those odds.

So his odds of being traded to St Louis basically?

With this in mind, it is quite possible the only first round picks of major league consequence made during Hendry's 2002-2011 tenure will be Josh Donaldson and Andrew Cashner.

Pretty long.

Better question, what are the odds Javy doesn't get called up until he has an extra year of service time? I imagine with the demotion they're going to want him to mash AAA for a bit along with a non-embarrassing K rate. That's a month-1.5 months right there. He needs 77 days in the minors to gain the extra year.

This is what I was thinking.

What if we traded him to the Cardinals?

Coming up on #InsidePitch we’ll break-down the Kris Bryant decision…which I personally think is a mistake…866-MLB-ONXM to call-in to debate

Baez non-believers....what, if anything, would Baez have to in the minors for you to be excited about him again?

Keep his K% under 30 and change his mechanics? To be perfectly honest I probably won't get excited until he (assuming he ever does) has something resembling maintained major league success.

Not strike out 1 out of 3 times up.
