Not sure if he fits Gus Bradley's defense, but Jacksonville has a need here and this guy is the best player at the position. Plenty of mocks have him as a potential first round guy and this is just too early for a RB, even if you're best RB is either Gerhart or Denard Robinson.

Jacksonville selects Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington

what happened with this guy? he was mocked early teens forever and now he's a 2nd rounder

I've seen him recently mocked in the first still, but not often. My only guess is his size, but he's a 4-3 OLB with speed and, in those cases, size is usually forgiven. No character issues either (in fact, isn't he the exact opposite of a character concern?).

So basically, I don't know why he's dropping.

Because he has no position in the NFL.

He'd be fine as a 4-3 OLB in the NFL. A little small, but speed is more important for 4-3 than size anyway, typically.

mul told me to go ahead and make the pick here.

It's really tempting to go with Sammie Coates - big, fast, very raw, very athletic WR with a lot of boom/bust potential is right up Fisher's alley. He's a defensive guy though and there's a player he's rumored to like sitting on the board. When in doubt, go defense with Jeff Fisher.

Rams select Benardrick McKinney, LB, Mississippi State

Cleveland Browns select WR Nelson Agholor USC.

I almost took him over Strong. He's good value this late.

4-3 Will LB and sub package player. With most teams passing 60% of the time or more and teams playing nickel that much, he can basically be a predominant nickel LB. Also read that 60% of passes in the NFL are thrown within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Thompson will excel in the short passing game, covering RBs, etc. I still think he's a top 15 talent in this draft, but I understand if he doesn't go til 2nd. Doesn't fit everywhere. But he definitely has a position. And he's pretty good at it.

After picking up a #1 receiver (DeVante Parker) for Tannehill in the first, the Dolphins look to add some protection for him.

With the 47th overall selection, the Miami Dolphins select OG Laken Tomlinson, Duke.

Hate to do this to a good guy but...

Buffalo: Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA

The Texans have needs at wide receiver (Andre Johnson gone), at pass rusher (what will Jadeveon Clowney provide in 2015?), and at cornerback (replacement for likely 2016 cap casualty Jonathan Joseph), but there is questionable value remaining on the board at all of those positions.

Instead, they look to fill the yawning chasm on their roster that is inside linebacker.

With the 51st overall selection, the Houston Texans select ILB Eric Kendricks, UCLA.

Carolina's probably looking to go tackle here, but all the good ones have been gobbled up. I'll go BPA and give the Panthers a DeAngelo replacement instead.

Panthers pick Duke Johnson, RB, Miami

I'll go ahead and make the Ravens' pick.

Baltimore just lost Torrey Smith and weren't exactly strong at WR before that. So, they take the best WR on the board at this point since the corners and TEs aren't considerably better.

Ravens select Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn

Sorry, I missed the message. I like this pick though. Good job.
