Treatment for what? Being a douche?

 

Heh, it's funny how the announcements all specifically avoid saying what the treatment is for, but the presumption is alcohol.

So, NFL Network is saying that soliciting a hooker=bad. Doing mountains of blow with multiple hookers in the 90's=OK.

Yeah?

 

 

They are probably most concerned with the assault charges in a year where the league has struggled with men assaulting women.

It had me until this:

Sam did his part to minimize the media attention as well.

I won't fault the guy for wanting to document an historic moment (and to draw attention to what he was doing for multiple reasons), but it certainly wasn't an attempt to minimize media attention.

I think there is a before/after viewpoint here. After the "frenzy" that moment caused he withheld from the media more.

That I can agree with.

 

It really makes me wonder about the conversations going on in locker rooms and front offices: it's hard to know where the negativity is coming from -- or it it differs by organization. There are a ton of marketing opportunities to be had for a franchise that employs Sam, but based on conversations that I've had, football and business ops are very siloed in most orgs.

According to our source, the Cowboys haven’t done a huge deal with Dez because of concern over the video. Unfortunately Bryant’s team won’t be able to stop the tape from getting out to the public. Of course Cowboys COO Stephen Jones denies knowledge of such a video. This is going to be a game changer for the Cowboys future. UPDATE: We’re being told the Cowboys have warned Dez the tape is going to be released, and from someone who has seen it, that it’s five times worse than the Ray Rice Video. His football career is in jeopardy according to our source."

Supposedly this rumor has been around for a couple of months and even some execs within the Cowboys are claiming it isn't real. I sort of doubt the validity of it, but him doing anything stupid a couple of years ago is not out of the question.
