This is hilarious

7 drops

Those guys aren't stupid. They know what they need to do for the greater good.

YES. Thank you, Bears. Go eat [expletive], Clausen.

Well at least the Bears know they have a somewhat serviceable backup QB to re-sign for next year

haters gonna hate, but Jimmy Saturday delivers

Quick math but I think the Bears can get no worse than the 8th pick with a loss next week. And the Giants are up double digits early. If they lose I believe a loss to Minnesota clinches the 7th pick. I am not sure how the tiebreakers work but Washington can still tie them too if they beat Dallas, so maybe still slightly alive for the 6 spot.

Can't hate on Clausen, he did fine for the limited time he had to prepare but this was more about the Lions [expletive] themselves multiple times than anything the Bears did.

Clausen played okay so about 5 more games like that and he'll have proved he's an adequate backup QB and the rookie year was the aberration.

Meatballs are already crowning Clausen as the new McCown. Somehow Clausen's presence prevented the defense from giving up less than the 40 points they usually allow.

The funny part is that Bears lost and they're still crowning him.

Yeah, a huge difference from last year was that Jeffery (and Marshall to a lesser extent) were catching bad throws all year. If it was 50/50, they came down with it. They aren't making those catches for the most part and dropped the easy ones more than they should (which is next to never). Forte was a good pass blocker until Week 16 last year, and he's terrible at it now. Bushrod is bad now. Bennett does a lot of terrible things. Went from one of the most talented offenses to a bunch of question marks and didnt change a single starter.

The magic of expectation setting. All he had to do was not completely poop his pants. Possibly literally.

Also for being firey. Though in the same circumstance I'm quite confident Jay would be called a [expletive] for sliding and a bitch for yelling at the D.

Yards wise, this matched Cutler's worst output all year if I remember

Just playing Meatball's advocate, his yards would have been better if there weren't 7 drops. Also if there was garbage time I'm the game like Cutler has had in a lot of his games.

It was a decent performance from a backup QB. Nothing to get excited about but nothing to disparage either.

Cutler suffered same drops and didn't get the benefit of defense and special teams putting him in great spot. Cutler gets criticized for having good numbers but not "looking good" while doing it.

Clausen's YPA was lower than any of Cutler's games this year and nearly a yard lower than the worst qualifying QB in the NFL. Bennett leads all TEs in the NFL in drops and Forte is second amongst RBs.

He got 14 points because of shortened fields due to idiocy from Detroit - a ST fumble and a roughing the punter penalty.
