@MikeGarafolo

John Fox and the Bears expected to try to interview Mike Mularkey as OC, source says. Titans denied TB's request. Let's see what happens.

YUCK

Looks like he was pretty darn good as OC in ATL. Obviously he was a terrible HC.

This line from his Wikipedia made me lol

His second season in Buffalo was far less successful. Dogged by a quarterback controversy between J.P. Losman and Kelly Holcomb

Can't imagine what could have gone wrong.

@DanBernstein

Pace initiated the meeting in Denver with Fox. Wanted more face-time while contract details were being finalized. #Bears

Maybe I missed this mentioned somewhere else, but he's saying Pace flew out to Denver to meet face to face yesterday/today and seal the deal?

Yep. It was widely reported he was in Denver last night.

Like 90% sure his answer to "What is a successful season for you?" is "We're gonna win today... *unintelligible mumbling* ...it's one of the calendars once you get into the season."

you'd think they would've learned their lesson about promoting terrible idiots to be head coaches from singletary

So...I'm assuming Fox being hired increases the chances of Cutler sticking around, am I correct? I really hope so, for all his faults I love him.

Fox and the fact he signed a 4 year contract indicate they likely don't plan on wasting any years.

If he's interested in pulling off another quick turnaround, it should.

When the Bears interviewed Fox on Wednesday, people wondered if he already had the job lined up in case the Broncos lost.

"That's not true," Fox said. "I didn't have any jobs lined up. I didn't know I wasn't going to have one, other than I heard from plenty of places. There were no guarantees. I didn't have any guarantees. Look, it was mutual. We both agreed to part ways."

Fox said he would not be going to next week's Senior Bowl event because there was too much work to do at the Bears' offices, most notably in hiring his new staff.

Dennis Allen, Jim Schwartz and Mike Smith are candidates to become his defensive coordinator. Adam Gase, Fox's offensive coordinator the past two years in Denver, is under consideration for the same role with the Bears. But there are other candidates, too.

#Bears coach John Fox gave new boss Ryan Pace props when they got off flight from Denver. Pace gave Fox his 1st class seat and went coach
