#Athletics had 7 players in All-Star Game last season, and have now traded 5 (Samardzija, Cespedes, Moss, Norris, Donaldson).

Sources: Free-agent RHP Jake Peavy has agreed to a deal and will return to #SFGiants.

Apparently 2 years, $24 million.

@jeffpassan

Sources: Braves finishing up a Justin Upton trade.

My guess is the Rangers. Upton would have a hell of a contract year in Arlington, too.

Crasnick just tweeted that it's not the Rangers.

Rosenthal said not Rangers, not A's, Can't rule out Padres.

EDIT: But another tweet says it is an AL west team, so Seattle does seem like the answer.

Braves MLB writer says it's not A's, Mariners or Rangers but Padres still a possibility. Rosenthal says not Rangers or A's but can't rule out the Padres.

Rosenthal thinks it's the Padres.

Seriously though, did someone ask Preller if he knows they can only play 3?

Upton, Kemp, Smith, Quentin, Maybin, and Venable all under contract for a combined 54 million. Liriano is also about MLB ready too.

EDIT: lol completely forgot about Myers, what in the world are they doing?

Isn't Maybin awful? Aside from defense he looks like a zero at the plate.

He's had a bunch of injuries, the hope is that once healthy(and possibly with the benefit of a part time role), he'd return to be the above average player he was a few years back. Definitely a gamble.

If they find a way to flip Myers in a Profar deal, it's not going to shock me.

I prefer Smith for sure - I'd push hard for him. But despite his awful season, Venable might not be a bad buy low option. Can play all three positions decently or better, historically pretty good away from Petco and against RHP.
