The discussion you quoted was in regards to if the Maddon hiring fell through.

This has nothing to do with people's feelings.

thanks

Editing your mistakes won't help you. You remain confused and fell down in the process. Laughable.

You are an odd duck.

No, that's not what happened. He was right, you were wrong. The whole time.

#Rays will have interest (tampering) in timing of Hoyer visit to Ricky. Been told it was late last week. Maddon news broke Friday. #Cubs

stfu and let us do whatever we want rays, we haven't won the world series in 106 years...we should be given first dibs on all managers/players and spotted 10 games in the standings every year.

"Late last week" and "Friday" seem kind of synonymous. Also, couldn't it have been industry knowledge that he had an opt-out clause? Maddon had two weeks to decide, his decision was made Friday. That means the industry might've known about it through their sources for the previous two weeks ever since Friedman left.

Friday may be late last week but late last week does not mean Friday.

Sure, all this could be on the up and up, but the point is there is an awful lot of smoke here.

There's no way maddon opts out with only the twins in search of a manager. Had to know somebody was wanting to hire him. With no one else showing any interest.........

It's clearly tampering. The only question is, is it technically, and demonstrably tampering.

That is very specious logic.

There are myriad reasons why he may have wanted to opt out.

It's not clearly tampering at all; this likely would have been swirling around as rumors or insider knowledge, so it could easily be argued that the Cubs were being proactive and went to Renteria and simply said, "look, it sounds like Maddon is going to opt out and we want you know now that if he does we are going after him."

It's nothing of the sort. The poster before me indicated that it "could be on the up and up". That's what makes it work. No deal in place, just an informal conversation. It can't be proven, but if you're telling me you believe no one with the Cubs had any contact with anyone associated with Maddon, I have a bridge to sell you.

@BruceMiles2112: No mincing of words: #Cubs used word "fired" in their news released, not "dismissed." Usually clubs soften it a little

@BruceMiles2112: Theo said #Cubs learned of Maddon opt-out last Thursday and that Hoyer flew to meet with Ricky on Friday.

@BruceMiles2112: Theo said Maddon may be "as well suited as anyone in the industry to manage the challenges that lie ahead of us." #Cubs

@sahadevsharma: Theo: Rick deserved to come back for another season as Cubs manager, & we said as much when we announced that he would be returning in 2015.
