I'm figuring Alabama's going to continue to be very mad and very focused, meaning this is not going to be a good game for Tennessee. It won't help that the team has given the fans no reason to stay behind them.

ole miss is only a 3 point favorite at LSU...

Those games are generally always close affairs. Ole Miss, even when not good at all, usually gives high ranked LSU all they are worth. The script is flipped this year. I'm terrified of this game. However, LSU is mostly a one trick pony offensively this year. They are 11th in SEC in passing and therefore rely on the run. Ole Miss has the sixth ranked rush defense in the nation (as evidenced by Tenn getting 0 rushing yards on 28 attempts).

Nevertheless, this WILL be a close one. However, the Rebs have covered the spread in every game this year, so there's that.

Ole Miss lost a key ally on the playoff committee. Archie Manning withdraws to have a knee surgery? What are the physical requirements in choosing four teams at the end of the season.

He had complications from the knee surgery.

Tennessee coach or GA tries to trip Senquez Golson after one of his interceptions.

By the way, Golson is an interesting figure, his 7 int's in 7 games is second in FBS and leads SEC in passes defended. He passed up an alleged high six or love seven-figure number from the Red Sox who wanted to draft him (I think in the second round) back in 2011 and opted instead to play football. That decision might be looking to pay off this year. Although his height, just 5'9, surely knocks him down draft boards. However, dude can certainly jump, as was seen by him leaping above 6'6 O.J. Howard to make that last second pick against Alabama.

I believe Golson passed on $1.1 million. Can't imagine walking away from that type of money to play college football and not get paid.

Q: can Michigan keep it close against Sparty?

A: no, no they can't, that's a ridiculous question what would compel you to think such a thing

Bad news. I've been telling everyone who will listen the Ole Miss is the best team in college football. Usually my endorsement is enough to cause an immediate loss. Sorry in advance.

Damn your eyes. The kiss of death. I know you did that just to spite me...

Usually that might be the case. But I think Ole Miss really is the best.

Besides, even a hater like me would want to see them get to the Miss St game undefeated so America can watch the fans of those two teams turn Mississippi into (even more of a) post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Also, I like their defense. And overall, I'm in full-fledged "anyone but K-State" mode. I'd love for a team like Oregon to win it all, but they won't. Of the SEC options--one of which will be the likely winner this year imo--I'd prob want one of the Miss teams just to shake things up.

Sucks that OU is terrible and FSU is QBd by such a gross POS, because usually they're my fallback teams.

I would bitch about having to play Sparty in EL 2 years in a row, but neither of the last 2 Michigan teams would have beaten them at home.

Unfortunately I don't think that'll happen. The Rebels will trip up at least once (although it's really, really hard to score against that defense, so maybe they won't trip up) and I'm having a hard time imagining Mississippi State winning in Tuscaloosa.

At this point, I think the playoff will be

FSU

Oregon

SEC West winner (one loss Ole Miss because of tie-break over Bama)

SEC West one-loss team (Bama)

I think it's easy to look at last week and conclude Bama is back to being Bama, but that was against a not so good aTm team, who picked the worst week of the season to go to Tuscaloosa. Let's see Sims and the Tide put a few of these together before saying they're back. MS St is still better to me.

I keep waiting for Ole Miss to falter, but that defense might not let them. LSU is home at night, but that and Fournette are about all they have going for them.

Cheney for the Hogs is the dumbest [expletive] playcaller we have had since Nutt. The Hog's running game is arguably the best in the country and their QB is only decent on his best day. After an opening TD drive where they run the ball down Georgia's throats, Cheney becomes pass happy and runs a tight end reverse in field goal range. At least the team did fight in the second half.

Oregon? Notre Dame has a better loss

And Oregon has the best win.

Their schedules look to be pretty similar. Both play Stanford. Notre Dame gets at Arizona State and at USC while Oregon would play somebody good from the other division (maybe one of those two) in the Pac-12 title game.

Oregon seems to suffer from the same thing Georgia is in that while their conference is good, their division appears to be weak.

We seem to be sailing towards a playoff with Florida State and two SEC teams but there are a ton of teams that still have a shot for the fourth spot. There are 4 Pac 12 teams, 4 Big 10 teams and 3 Big 12 teams that still have one-loss. Going to be interesting to see how those conferences plus the SEC plays out over the next few weeks.

The Chinese DVD title for Notre Dame is "Jesus Buys Northwestern."

If football had seven quarters, the Aggies could have written the lyrics to Seven Nation Army chant on the scoreboard.

Lemme order for you, buddy. He'll take the Kevin Sumlin omelet. It's five goose eggs. Yeah, I know it costs $3.1 million.

Last time Bill Snyder worked a point that hard Julius Caesar died.

I don't know how these keep getting better each week.
