Yea well they have to lock up Saad first. Depending on how much he ends up will probably impact some of the smaller name FAs

 

Absolutely, but at that point we're getting into the nitty-gritty small stuff.

 

Of course, I'm the guy who thinks that there's a lot of luck involved in the playoffs and the 2011 and especially 2012 teams weren't that much worse than 2010 or 2015.

Blackhawks have 200K more twitter followers than the Bears.

 

Bulls have over 2 million.

 

Clearly an indication of popularity in Chicago.

I think he still carries enough name value to net an intriguing prospect. He plays as the fourth forward on the power play at the point and does so pretty well. There's value to be had with him. Contract isn't outrageous.

bet you guys never could have thought that dollar bill dying could have turned out so well.

I felt like the day he was out would be the day the Hawks could move forward but I never dreamed of this.

 

I always come back to this:

 

 

I was listening to that game on the radio at work, and couldn't wait to get home to see the highlight. Hearing the other team's announcers gush like that really drove home how special it was about to become.

I think we'll get value for both. We always do. People make a big deal about how teams should just punish us for our hubris, but in the end someone will want these players.

what a weird season. definitely the most surprising run of the 3. it still almost feels like they never even really got going. the postseason starts and they go into "we're not what we used to be, but we're still better than all of you" mode and calmly navigate through 16 wins

If someone wanted to call us lucky this year, I wouldn't exactly yell them down. 16-7 in the playoffs with like a +8 GD or whatever, and outshot by a wide margin. Unsustainable win percentage in one-goal games.

 

But when you're really good and in the hunt every year, you'll have a year like this sometimes.
