I'll never understand why teams in hockey are so vague about injuries. This could be anything from a broken leg to an ACL injury.

Probably because they can get away with it. I bet most teams would prefer to remain vague on injury issues, but some leagues more or less mandate that they give up the information and they are followed by a huge amount of media that wants to break the news. Most NHL injuries involve a guy (barely) skating off the ice and going to the dressing room never to be heard from again. In the NFL you have 14 different angles of close-ups, the guy goes down on the field and gets taken off by a cart and Schefter/Glazer types race to break the exact news.

The NHL has never forced their teams to be open, and they are followed by a handful of Canadian reporters who respect the tradition of not releasing that information.

Exactly. NFL coaches would love it if they could get away with not releasing injury info.

The good news for Clendenning is that, for the time being, he pretty much has to dress for games which means he'll have to play at least a little. How much remains to be seen but neither Roszival or Rundblad can play the left side so this is his chance to show what he can do. Of course, Rockford has a bunch of LH shots on the Blue line and we might see Cumiskey once he recovers from his "upper body injury" (read concussion) or Dahlbeck if Clendenning is weak in his own zone. Q has been more patient with young defensemen than he has been with young forwards though partly out of necessity.

10 goals in two games since a sports dumb friend of mine went on a rant about how the low shooting percentage wasn't a fluke.

Calgary is 12-7-2 somehow. Their shooting percentage is very high, tell your friend to watch where the Flames end up in the standings. It will probably be 10th or worse. Also see Colorado last year to this year.

Hawks put up a touchdown in Edmonton.

Feels like they put up 1 or 2 of those out west every season.

Or Edmonton does it to them. We owed them that one.

With #Blackhawks sending Phillip Danault to Rockford, it appears Andrew Shaw is ready to return to lineup following upper-body injury.

I would have preferred Nordstrom since Danault could push Shaw to wing. Though I guess Nordstrom up helps Morin's chances of ever playing since Nordstrom is very much "a guy" on that line with Kruger and Smith.

Yeah just saw on Twitter that Shaw plays tomorrow and Sharpie will be back on 12/3 against St. Louis.

Dang it we've reached that Atlanta Braves stage where regular season wins don't even make me that happy.

Does anything?

So Sharp comes back, Nordstrom down to Rock Vegas and Saad to the 3rd line with Kruger and Smith. Those are all guesses but seem logical. I actually like Saad on the Human shield line since he 's more of a threat offensively than Nordstrom. I hope they send Clendening back to the Rock too and bring up Dahlbeck who would be a much better partner for either of Roszy or Rundblad.

i don't think it will be nearly as bad as the 2010 team, and even then they were still a 100ish point team. this was always going to be the last year of this edition of the super stacked blackhawks. they're still in great shape.

it will be very sad to see sharp gone, though
