I've always been under the impression Arguello knows a few area scouts and Loxas, who I think works at a high end restaurant, gets his info from Cubs affiliated people that eat there.

In neither case do I think they know guys high enough up the food chain to where their info should be taken seriously.

Has Marlin said anything of note recently?

arguello is not bad unless he's trying to do math or something. I can't remember that thing everyone was making fun of him for

he said expect payroll to go up $30M last year or something, and people asked what amount it was going up from, the 2013 level or where it was after contracts expired and such, and he said it didn't matter what it was going up from.

FWIW, Olnley was just on ESPN saying that a deal is imminent with the Dodgers, Red Sox, Cubs and Giants in the running. He seemed to linger on the Giants' chances a bit more than anyone else.

Who is Tom Loxas anyway? Is he a blog writer or something? Not that he has much credibility, but what makes him different than anyone else throwing up random rumors?

I think he did get the Garza deal before anyone else.

Wasn't that Wittenmyer?

I am starting to hate SF as much as hate the Cards.

I just hate their fans. I lived in NorCal a long time and that fan base is just as obnoxious as Cardinals fans.

[expletive] Will Clark, reason enough to hate the Giants.

Actually, I visited SF for the first time in my life this summer and went to a Giants game, I was stunned at how obnoxious their fans were. I pictured them all being either super hipsters or rich but geeky tech guys.

I have serious irrational hate for all members of the 84' Pads and 89' Giants, especially Garvey and Clark (the resemblance is uncanny, BTW). For some reason as a group the 89' Giants bother me more. Clark was just a prick, and I couldn't stand Butler, Thompson, or Williams either. Roger Craig looked like he wore a white robe on off-days.
