Almora with a PH single in the 7th so I guess he's ok

They said it was a minor injury yesterday.

I never could find an update after it happened and then he wasnt in the lineup today made me a little nervous, its good to see he's ok. Looked like he was grabbing at his hamstring after the diving play in the 9th last night.

Another Schwarber Bomb. 5 days in a row.

I read a tweet 5 days ago that said Schwarber had hit exactly 4 HRs in every level he's been at as a Cub. Now he has 10 at Daytona. He's going to hit 20 this yeae and he didn't get started until halfway through June.

I still am kind of in disbelief that he's a member of the Cub organization. 11 home runs in a month and a half, as one of the youngest players in a pitcher's league. And he's a shortstop.

Meanwhile the Oakland A's remain the best team in baseball, but have had luck dislodge them from the lead in the AL West, making it quite possible that the Lester/Samardzija trades come down to a one game playoff.

We have effectively been anesthetized to the pains of any fan who follows a normal minor league organization. It's never been like this before. It may never be like this again. When this wears off, reality is going to hit and hit hard.

But the major league team will be good which will be 10x better.

Schwarber's slashline in Daytona is going to look similar to Bryant's by the end of the year. Since Schwarber has Top 5 pick pedigree and starting next year in AA, where is he listed on offseason Top 100 prospect lists? Does he crack Top 10?

too many questions on defense to go near the top 10. I would guess anywhere from 30-50.

I'll be very surprised if he's top 50. He was considered a slot saver and there's plenty of question on what position he winds up playing. My guess is 50-75 on most and 76-100 on a few.

If he rakes next year and starts to look like a C longterm, he vaults into the top 10 with ease. But this season, while awesome, isn't going to put him anywhere near there yet.

I kind of trust the Cubs' scouting and player development system (never thought I would say that) to at least keep them around the middle of the pack, considering that the Red Sox were regularly among the top third of all systems despite usually drafting late in each round.

That being said, some of the tools they exploited (spending heavily on amateur talent, piling up compensation picks that other teams undervalued) are no longer available. So my optimism may be unwarranted.

I guess 50-75 if they think he has no chance to be anything but a liability defensively, but anyone that puts him 76-100 with his production at the plate is out of their mind.

I just got in and oh my [expletive] god what is going on.

Schwarber is a BEAST. Has anyone figured out what his HR pace would translate to for a full season?
