JavyK in his first PA in Puerto Rico...

Way to bring a room down. We needed that.

Then I won't even mention what he did in his second AB...

lol...all you can do is laugh and hope it gets better

I honestly think continued issues could be a positive. If he just came out raking then he wouldn't learn anything. I dunno I might be grasping at straws here.

@Crewsett: The opposing pitcher threw Javier Baez four breaking balls in his first at bat. Two fastballs and another breaker the second. Same result. K

Javy struck out in his 3rd AB too... 0-3 3K

Is he shaking off rust, working on something or just broken?

When have we ever had to ask questions like that where the answer in the end wasn't "broken"?

Bryant going 0-5 with 5K's in his debut game.

Technically that one isn't over yet.

Javy must have grounded out in his last AB because he finished 0-4 with an RBI

Sac fly to deep left center.

Oh, then he must have had 5 PA, or the tweet I read was incorrect

Great, he still strikes out and now he only has warning track power. Cash in now honey, the end is near.

What was Javy's K rate in Triple A?

I know he looked bad in the majors but he looked bad in AA and AAA first too. Wasn't he pretty damn good for a long stretch in AAA this year?

It's not like he has only dominated A ball, shouldn't there be a decent amount of optimism for Javy considering the adjustments he's made in AA/AAA before?

His AAA K-rate was really bad, too. And historically, high K-rates in the minors are really bad signs even if the OPS is still high. We're hoping that his extremely young age balances that out.

I know its manipulating statistics to make me a koolaid drinking happy Cubs fan but what did Javy's K-rate look like after his abysmal start in AAA?

I just remember following the ML game threads and it seemed for awhile he was definitely striking out less (not to say he was still anywhere near a good K-rate though).

Did he have any prolonged period of a non disgusting K-Rate in AAA? Or, was it more like a good couple weeks where he struck out a little less than usual?

I'm completely guessing here, but I think even if you picked his best few weeks of an arbitrary start-end point in AAA he's probably still in the 20%+ range. I don't think he ever had prolonged stretches of even in the teens.

Yeah, I'm specifically interested in what he did after his slow starts in AA and AAA if there was any significant improvement.
