thank you, kind sir

In other news, my boy Billy McKinney is still 19, 3/4 with a walk tonight, and hitting .330 so far at High-A in a pitchers league

Underwood and Tseng at Daytona and McKinney in AA all as 20 year olds next season should be fun.

Any chance Tseng skips Daytona as dominant as he's been in KC?

I can't see it. I could see him split his season next year evenly between Daytona and Tennessee though.

Bryant HR

I would prefer he does this for the MLB club like right now.

He's a Boras client, so he's my sole exception to the usual impatient, want-the-guy-up-now thing. May as well keep him down until late next April and get that extra year.

Kris Bryant is an engine of death. OPS up to about 1.110.

yeah, i don't see him giving the cubs any sort of team-friendly deal to buy himself some long-term security. just keep him down next april and bring him up once you've got the extra year. valbuena can hold down the fort until then.

Important HRs so far today:

Baez (2)

Castro

Bryant

Schwarber

Honorable mention: Vogelbach.

And Rizzo and Russell didn't even play.

Agreed.

It's not like he's got crazy, dominant stuff like Giolito. He's got a slightly above average FB and a good breaking ball, but what he does have is well above average control and youth.

To me, that youth means he's ahead of the learning curve as players usually continue to improve into their early 20s. So he's got time to improve and needs to continue to improve if he's going to reach his ceiling of a #2 or #3. I don't think he gains anything in his development by skipping a level.

Anyone think the MLB team can make up 11.5 games with Bryant and Soler in the lineup?

Yea I didn't either. So bringing up Bryant is actually a bad idea.

Uh, am I missing something? Soler isn't in Arizona.

Finishing a suspended game from early July, there's a couple guys(I noticed Burks) who have batting lines in that box score but have since been promoted.

Uh, am I missing something? Soler isn't in Arizona.

In his defense, I just searched AZL Cubs and found their milb page. When I clicked on box score it took me to July 3, 2014 when Soler was 1-2 with a K. The fact he didn't know Soler was in AAA and knocking on the doorstep of the big leagues is a little disconcerting, though.

ETA: TT cleared up why the date was weird. And maybe (probably?) shuffle knew that all along and was trolling us.

So when can we expect Soler to get promoted? I want it and I want it NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I really want him up now and think he'd do fine, but I could see them wanting to keep him in Iowa for a while yet to get a few more ab's and make sure he's completely healthy (though that could be accomplished at the MLB level). He does only have about 130 PA between AA and AAA.
