somewhere between casual and business casual

Casual Fridays? My office has casual Friday. Also have fundraisers where you can donate $5 and wear jeans all week, but have to wear collared shirts.

nah. you can wear jeans whenever. some people wear khakis. shirts are mostly polos although sometimes people wear button down collared shirts.

Yeah there should be a level between Business Casual and Casual. We can wear jeans, but with polo or button down dress shirt. No T-shirts or shorts or anything like that.

I prefer dressing business casual, makes me feel like more of a professional.

I used to work at a job that bragged about having no dress code. It was one of those young, first job out of college sales gigs. But girls started showing up in pajama bottoms and flip flops, guys started showing up in torn up t-shirts and sweatpants, etc and that whole thing ended quickly.

So then the next level down would just be "No Dress Code?"

Work from house usually, so shorts. If I'm taking meetings, suit, unless I know the people well that I'm meeting with. Then shorts. Or golf attire, if we're on a course.

in my experience, that level could also be called "we're going to be out of business in two months anyway so who gives a [expletive]."

Mine too, with the occasional formal attire depending on meetings. The move to casual was a recent change from a more formal dress code, probably as a morale booster since they were also laying off ~20% of the company.

We used to have that pay money to wear jeans thing like raw mentioned. The money went to the party planning committee and they'd get us breakfast on Thursdays.

Jeans and a t-shirt in the office, suit in meetings. Really no in-between.
