I think Alcantara would have been up if he were in some other orgs. KB and Javy both definitely would have. Is there another team that's as cautious as us? I get why and I'm fine with it. But it is frustrating at times obviously.

any team that would've had javy up to start this year would've been wrong, though.

You cannot make that judgement.

just think he's exactly the type of raw talent that needs all the development (within reason - i'm not saying leave him down there for years and years or anything) that the minors can offer.

His ability suggests the he will adjust to any level. Keeping him in AAA isn't for him, it's for the organization. Both Bryant and Baez could have skipped AAA just like Starlin did.

Like I said, I'm fine with how they're keeping these guys down. But Javy needs time to adjust to each level it appears and struggles out of the gate. However, his ridiculous talent COULD have allowed for things to go quicker. It's possible he could be figuring it out in the majors right now, instead of AAA.

Javy would have a similar stat line to Mike Olt if he started in the majors. Unlike Olt, he has the talent to adjust, but I don't think anyone can say for certain whether starting him in the majors this year would have been good or bad for his development. I highly doubt it would have helped the major league team, though.

#6 - cruz

#40 - choi

#45 - kelton

It might have helped the 2015 team, though.

Nobody knows what Javey would have done if he started in the majors. I'm not advocating for it, though.

the Bucs kept down Polanco even though they had serious playoffs aspirations (and are currently 1.5 games out of playoff position)

assuming we don't go on some miracle run, i think i'm gonna root for them and the A's again this year

The Brewers success is only tolerable because it could keep the Cardinals out of the playoffs. Nats, Bucs, Braves, Giants, Brewers, Reds, Dodgers, Cardinals.

Canceled out by the douche.

The Brewers are only a small step below the Cardinals and White Sox for me as far as hate goes. Some combination of 2007/2008 and the fact that they're Packers fans, I guess.

I'll be pulling for the A's yet again. I feel really good about it this time.

How long would say, Alcantara, have to stay down in order to retain prospect status for the big offseason lists?

130 ABs, so...it depends. Unless he gets called up by July 18th.

Brett's descriptors are creepy. I wish he and his followers would really stop with the sparkle and sexy.

I used to enjoy following and reading Brett's stuff. I realize its mostly other writers articles that he just expands on, but the amount of content he posted was nice. Now...not sure what hes going for other than Parks' affection.

Sharma is trying so hard for people like Parks to like him that he's fallen into the same trap.

@ProfessorParks Truly, you are 10x the Twitter user than you are a prospector.

Jason Parks ‏@ProfessorParks 11m

@BleacherNation Now that's just mean.

Brett Taylor ‏@BleacherNation 7m

@ProfessorParks Ah, come on now - you know I think you're fantastic at the day job. It's just that your Twittering ... it's luminescent.

Sharma makes a strong move, but Brett answers back and remains strongly in the lead for Parks' affection.

Maybe they're just enjoying themselves and being friendly too. I think it's silly at best myself(just like the race to nickname the group of top prospects), but so is trying to assign motivation to it.

It's all in good fun (from me at least), I just found it hilarious that that was the first thing on my newsfeed after reading the latest posts in this thread.

The Cubs are being quite aggressive with promotions. Bryant hasn't even been a pro for a full year yet and he's got a month of AAA under his belt.

Cubs fans being bored and screaming for promotions and not getting them != Cubs being cautious
