So melo is going to sign a max deal with NY and probably have an ETO after year 2. If the Knicks don't improve their team after next offseason he's going to force a trade to a team of his choice, using the ETO for leverage.

 

He'd probably be better off just saying he's going to the Bulls and working out a S+T to get max dollars here. I don't believe that Phil wouldn't take back Mirotic and a few picks.

I would just sign with Chicago for 2 years and tell Phil let's see what you do with the place until then. Don't waste your remaining prime years sitting at home in May.

i saw someone talking about how this is genius because everyone that burned one has to buy a new jersey now, but that would've happened anyway with the re-branding lol

Yup and I believe that it also lines up with when a new CBA (and I think new national TV deal) will be in place and likely a new pay scale structure which could result in being able to get a much larger contract.t

To be more precise, no less than five police officers at LeBron James home. They were told to expect a 3:30 ET announcement.

While league executives wait for James to make his announcement, many refuse to believe he'll return to Cleveland to play for Gilbert. Some even believe it would be hypocritical after how powerfully James spoke out against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling after racist comments by Sterling were made public in May.

 

James was the first player to speak out against Sterling, saying he had no place in the NBA.

 

"He condemned Sterling but he's going back to the [expletive] who nearly called him an uppity [expletive]," one league executive said. "Hypocrite."

 

 

What in the what? I don't follow this logic. Were there any racist connotations in the letter to actually make this analogy? "Nearly"?? Seems pretty damned reckless to compare the two, but I don't remember the letter in full...

Was Gilbert's letter on the Cavs's website all these years or not? Hearing conflicting reports.

They took it down like 3 days ago, finally. I don't believe there were any blatant racist remarks in it, but I remember some people got on Gilbert for the slave owner-slave/property undertones.

Prediction- Lebron shows up at the World Cup final in the gear of whatever team he is signing with...this will serve as his announcement and will upstage the World Cup on ESPN.
