If Kat Dennings was all up on your [expletive], you guys who are saying she isn't attractive wouldn't hesitate.

A very wise man in Scranton, Pa. once pointed out that the question is whether she's hot, not whether you would do her.

That's insulting to Swank to compare her to Dennings. Kat Dennings is just a pasty set of boobs and nothing else

If the Cubs play at their current pace until the deadline (.373 ball) and then play at the post-deadline winning percentage we had the last 2 seasons (.300 ball), the Cubs will finish 57-105, which would be the worst season in franchise history.

Yeah, but you offset that by how many games they SHOULD have won.

LOL

Going forward, barring trades and injuries, the Cubs are much more likely to play to their .471 pythag than that .373 actual. That's a fact. But whatever, have fun doing that stuff I guess.

2/3 or more of this team is pretty much here to be traded on the off chance they're any good for a couple of months. Why even post 'barring trades' knowing that?

Because the point is that the ridicule of pythag by mockingly referencing "games they SHOULD have won" is [expletive] stupid and makes you look like a meatball.

I mostly agree with you, but this team underperforms their Pythag every single damn year, so I sympathize with people who are sick of hearing about Pythag.

Using the pythag as a crutch is equally pointless with a Frankenstein team like this; it's not like we're talking about a bunch of fulltime players likely to be around for a while. In this context it's just to make people feel better. It's not unusual at all when a team largely cobbled together with busts and platoon players and the like plays worse than "expected."

Basically stole my post from me.

Aside from general blind luck, one major reason you might stray significantly from your pythag is poor bullpen performance in high leverage spots. That has done the Cubs in at the start of the last two seasons. This is partially because of shitty players and partially just bad luck too. Last year they straightened that out by putting better pitchers in those spots and then played more to their pythag until they were "dismantled." This year has gone pretty similarly.

Come on, just vent about this, for once. I'm pretty sure it's unhealthy holding it in. You're like the one person here who hasn't.
