What job is left for him to take? Barring some scandal I would think anyone who was thinking of firing their coach would've done so by now, so unless he really wants to go to UAB, Vandy's the only risk left.

Holding out for '15 to get the Illinois job?

Bo Davis has been the DL coach for 3 programs this week. Currently at Bama after a 6-day stint with Sark at USC (who stole him from Texas).

Several years ago, Texas got Davis from Bama. They let Davis go with the coaching change this year and brought in Chris Rumph also from Bama. When this happened Davis bolted USC to go back to Bama. At the same time Texas brought in Tommie Robinson from USC. Not a couple of days for USC.

Oh and Petrino has already started telling some Louisville commits they will not be getting offers anymore. Guess it was nice of him not to wait until signing day.

He interviewed for the Illinois job a couple of years ago. I have been somewhat surprised that he has not gotten more looks from comparable jobs

I'm still trying to figure out ajax's explanation.

Georgia has hired Jeremy Pruitt from FSU to be their new DC. Nice upgrade over Todd Grantham who had taken the Louisville DC job.

Pruitt probably nearly doubled his salary too, which is nice.

BK is promoting Denbrock to OC and BK will take back play calling duties.

From all accounts on my end, he's only getting a $100K base salary bump. Seemingly he would have a quicker progression to a HC spot if he stayed at FSU (and a better shot at another championship), unless he feels that Richt is gone soon and he'll have the inside shot. Apparently he's good friends with the OL coach, who played a big role in landing him.

It's difficult to get mad after just winning the whole thing, however.

From elsewhere: "According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Florida State defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is expected to accept the defensive coordinator job at Georgia. According to ESPN's Mark Schlabach, Pruitt will make $850,000 annually. He made about $500,000 at Florida State."

Saw from Tallahassee Democrat writer that he took home $950K after incentives this year.

Also saw from someone that he owes $75K back to FSU for leaving prior to completing a full year of his contract.

So you think he took a job that pays him $100k less? And I'm guessing he's not going to be the one that pays the $75k.

Judging by what UGA has returning and their schedule vs. what FSU has returning and their schedule, I would say that he is much more likely to meet the incentive clauses in his FSU contract than he is in the UGA contract - meaning he will take a pay cut.

Taking out salary considerations, I'm thinking he was a year away from a HC spot. Now, he'll have to rebuild UGA, and is likely 2-3 years away from a HC spot - if he's able to rebuild them quickly. Additionally, Mark Richt is on a perpetual "warm" seat at UGA, and the staff might get the ax if they have another mediocre season, injuries or not, and it's unknown if he would stay or be part of the house cleaning.

Lots of variables in the UGA move, combined with the timing of it.

Isn't Bob's Keeper still involved in his hometown rebuild?

Hearing that Pruitt leaving might have more to do with dipping his pen in the company ink (co-eds) while engaged than anything football related. It also places him 180 miles closer to his son, who is still playing HS football in AL.

From all reports, he didn't bother to tell Jimbo, the administration, or the players he was leaving - they found out through media reports and requests.

Sounds like a solid dude ...
