Ugh, every fanbase has their meatballs. We had morons going nuts over releasing Roman Harper, Lance Moore, Vilma, etc.

FWIW, they really like K. Robinson at RB. The feeling is that between Thomas, Robinson, Ingram, Cadette and maybe a later round pick they can negate the loss of Sproles. Generally, they are really trying to become a younger, tougher football team and not depend so much on Drew to save the day every week, which I think was demonstrated towards the end of last season. Reading between the lines, I think Rob Ryan's personality is really carrying over to both sides of the ball. Bill Parcells really has Payton's ear this offseason more than ever.

Robinson definitely showed some flashes that he could be a special player last year. And Ingram looked like a monster near the end of the season with his increased touches.

I've been a meatball on occasion, but that's pretty over-the-top.

Besides, I wouldn't be very proud if the heart & soul of my team was Steve punk Smith.

FWIW, I forgot LaFell and Ginn were both free agents (and Ginn already signed with Arizona). Carolina's current starting WRs according to Schefter are Tavarres King and Marvin McNutt. Go team.

What's Carolina's cap situation?

I wouldn't fret. This is possibly the deepest WR draft class ever.

Well, that's reason for optimism.

I don't obsessively follow cap stuff, but I know Carolina was up [expletive] creek financially coming into the off-season and probably benefited as much as anyone from the cap going up by $20M (part of why they were able to franchise Hardy and absorb that extra money).

Seahawks FA CB Browner visiting with the Saints tomorrow. Wherever he plays next year, he will have to sit out 4 games for suspension.

In other news, holy crap could the Saints defense be good next year! Love the direction the team is taking.

Raiders to trade late round pick for Matt Schaub.

and they signed Ryan Fitzpatrick. Do they see Fitzpatrick as a starter? Does this mean they don't pick a QB at #1?

No and No. Fitzpatrick (or Keenum) will likely be a placeholder for Bortles.

I don't know. They may be thinking that these QBs in the draft aren't worth a high pick and are trying to trade down. But then again, it's the Raiders so who the hell knows.

Wasn't Reggie Mckenzie a highly touted GM prospect? What in the world are the Raiders doing? I'm going to bet that they somehow wind up with Desean Jackson and Incognito on their roster before the season ends with a dash of Manziel.

NFL will outlaw dunking the football over the goalpost. Will be a penalty next year.

I feel like they've been waiting to make this a rule once Tony Gonzalez officially retired.

Yeah, but PFT thinks it was more of a "jimmy graham broke the goalpost" thing.
