Udfa. I don't believe in ever drafting one unless absolutely necessary. Too many decent ones to be had sitting on the couch. There is hardly any nuance to the position. Unless you get an opportunity to draft a Peterson or McCoy or even a Forte, you shouldnt.

Essentially, do you have a little burst to get to the next level? Ok, you're hired.

Agreed, though I have no problem with the Bears drafting DeAnthony Thomas because he's not a RB in the NFL. WR/punt returner.

I wouldn't go quite that far. If the guy has exceptional skills, yeah I'd be OK with it.

I would almost always be upset spending a high pick there, though. If they draft one today? Maybe.

I don't see much difference between the RBs who will go in rounds 4-7 and UDFA today. Maybe a couple with some special specific skills, but otherwise you might as well use the pick elsewhere.

Yea, if that's the case then I agree.

I'm very happy with what they are doing in this draft so far. They very clearly want to create as much pressure from the line as possible. The shift of McClellan to OLB could end up being a way to get something useful out of him. If you have him or Briggs each taking turns splitting the gaps created by the front 4, we could see a big rise in sack numbers.

I wonder if Emery would have taken Donald if the Rams passed on him in the first. I actually was hoping they would trade down when Donald got taken.

The Bears basically converted the coaching staff to an offensive minded bunch that likes to score points, yet they have spent most of the offseason fixing the other side of the ball. Lovie and Angelo would just draft another linebacker or lineman instead of taking an offensive lineman. It was obvious this needed to be done, but it's well worth mentioning that it's kind of awesome that they know it and are doing something about it rather than stocking up on offensive players that won't play.

In the 6th, besides Colt Lyerla, I'm also am intrigued by injured guys like Aaron Colvin and Vinnie Sunseri.

RB is a bit of a difficult position for me. The right player can be pretty valuable, but if you don't get the right guy, then you're wasting a pick because so many guys are so interchangeable.

Ultimately, a good all-around back like Sankey is worth taking a little higher, but somebody who can only do a couple things really well (guys like Hyde, Hill, Mason, etc) aren't really worth a high pick.

How would everyone feel about an Andy Murray in the 5th round?

Aaron Murray? Who is Andy?

If you are referring to Aaron, I'd rather use the pick on more defense or a WR. Maybe a TE. Personally, I think there will be enough veteran QB's looking for a job that Trestman can mold into a decent enough backup to Cutler if Palmer isn't capable or they want some competition in camp.

Actually, I'm not sure if they need to draft a WR, either. I keep forgetting they added Josh Morgan, and he and Wilson make for pretty decent 3rd and 4th options. Probably be a half way decent possession receiver type available when rosters trim down this Fall.

I will forever screw up his first name.

After they grab a S, and maybe a LB, they won't be drafting so much for current needs anyways, so a WR would be fine if the value is right.

Tomorrow I'd like to see:

A DB - lots of good names left

Bashaud Breeland CB Clemson

Keith McGill CB Utah

Pierre Desir CB Lindenwood

Jaylen Watkins CB Florida

Marcus Roberson CB Florida

Marqueston Huff CB Wyoming

Antone Exum CB Va Tech

Vic Hampton CB S Carolina

Brock Vereen S Minnesota

Tre Boston S UNC

Ahmad Dixon S Baylor

Dion Bailey S USC

A LB would be nice; Some names:

Telvin Smith OLB Florida St

Adrian Hubbard OLB Alabama

Christian Jones OLB Florida St

Carl Bradford OLB Arizona St

Jordie Tripp OLB Montana

Shayne Skov ILB Stanford

Andrew Jackson ILB W Kentucky

Yawin Smallwood ILB UConn

And offensive skill positions:

Bruce Ellington WR S Carolina

Martavis Bryant WR Clemson

Brandon Coleman WR Rutgers

Robert Herron WR Wyoming

Kevin Norwood WR Alabama

Jalen Saunders WR Oklahoma

Mike Davis WR Texas

Shaq Evans WR UCLA

Devonta Freeman RB Florida St

Andre Williams RB BC

De'Anthony Thomas RB Oregon

Ka'Deem Carey RB Arizona

Storm Johnson RB C Florida

Lache Seastrunk RB Baylor

James White RB Wisconsin

Colt Lyerla TE Oregon

Arthur Lynch TE Georgia

And drafting OL is almost never wrong

Cyril Richardson OG Baylor

David Yankey OG Stanford

Kadeem Edwards OG Tenn St

Zach Fulton OG Tennessee

Antonio Richardson OT Tennessee

Cameron Fleming OT Stanford

Seantrel Henderson OT Miami

Tyler Larsen C Utah St

Gabe Ikard C Oklahoma

My prediction

Rd4- Jordan Tripp, OLB, Montana

Rd5- Marqueston Huff, DB, Wyoming

Rd6- Zach Fulton, OG, Tennessee

Rd6- James White, RB, Wisconsin

Alternate scenario- playmaker heavy.

Rd4- Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson

Rd5- Antone Exum, DB, VA Tech

Rd6- Colt Lyera, TE, Oregon

Rd6- De'Anthony Thomas, RB/KR, Oregon

Of the guys you mentioned, we know the Bears have met in some way, shape or form with Huff (S), Ikard ©, Norwood (WR), DAT (OW) and White (RB).

Gotta hope Tripp, Ellington, Desir, Breeland and McGill are high on their 4th round wish list.

Im thinking Desir and change ur mind about Fuller to FS. Desir is BPA.

Good to get some validation.

BH: “He reminds me a lot of Tank. He’s not there yet. He’s not Tank Johnson but he reminds me of Tank when he was coming out and some of the things he was able to do.

Brick Haley is BH. LSU DL coach. Same position with the Bears when Tank was here.
